Elvis Presley...how many of you supposed "philanthropists" gave away pink caddies at random, not to mention sweaty scarfs?   8)

:D  This is gonna be fun!!!

I hear, and this definitely makes me happy, that while Baylor students are the most competitive, the atmosphere is not like that at all.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Best/Worst Law School Campus

Baylor!!!  Waco sucks, but the Baylor campus is gorgeous and the new law school is out of this world.

eh, whenever i hear waco I think Janet Reno Vs. David Koresh

Yeah, that was me too before I started there for my undergrad...then I realized Waco sucked on it's own merit, not just because of the Davidians!

28 years old with a BM from Baylor and MM from SMU, both in vocal performance (opera).  When the auditions did not work out for me I took an entry level position at a mortgage company, needless to say I have been bored to tears!  Also have another job waiting tables to help pay for loans.  Decided enough was enough, took the LSAT and applied to Baylor for the Spring and nowhere else...I figured if I did not get in I would apply to SMU and Wesleyan.  I think the WE definitely helped cause my numbers (3.3/158) are average at best.  I think the fact that I went to Baylor for my UG helped alot despite their protest to the contrary.
Does anyone think I should have applied anywhere else?  I consider myself lucky to get into Baylor...

I think you're a contender at any other law school in TX except UT... and I'd even apply there if I were so inclined. I thought you had your heart set on Baylor, but if not.... certainly throw it up the flagpole and see who salutes!

Thanks, I do have my heart set on going to Baylor and it would be my first choice out of all of the others, except for UT...I just feel strange only applying to one school.  I guess I should not complain!

Incoming 1Ls / Re: Outlines?!?

Thanks to the both of you...one other question.  I have read from many posters that a commercial outline is useful in getting an idea for the outline but not to completely copy...do either of you find this to be the case, or should I rely solely on myself?

Then I would say definitely do it.

I am not a law student right now, but I am starting at Baylor and will tell you that I think you should go for it.  That is the main reason I applied to Baylor, so I could start as soon as possible nd therefore get done asap!  As far as an apartment is concerned, I have been in touch with quite a few leasing companies and there are many apartments available.  Also, you can do the Fafsa online and get the results to Baylor within 8 business days so that should not be a problem.  Will Baylor allow you to start early?  I know the deadline for Spring was November 1st.
