Non-Traditional Students / Re: Why are you "Non Traditional"

I guess I am lucky cause this is a no brainer for me.  I work about 70 hours a week at a mortgage company and waiting tables just to make the payments I have now...my loan amount will double, but my salary will triple.  I was not a math major, but I think I can crunch those numbers!

Ya know, I read that about Baylor scholarships, too. I felt all special, but a quick trip here and to LSN and I think someone musta robbed a bank between then and now. I've "met" at least 7 people who've gotten full rides so far, including you and me but not counting EmSimpson who did and won't say so (c'mon!!). Not to say that lightening won't strike twice! Just chiming in about how Baylor is suddenly a lot more generous than they've been in the past. I agree that you should at least hold out to hear from the other schools, though. I only applied one place, so I'm set. BUT... should you decide to join the spring class, just know that you don't need 2 months to learn about Waco. Hehehe... you won't need 2 DAYS.  :D

How is it that everyone seems to know whether or not they got a scholarship?  I thought that info was going out in January...

so many more, but here's an abridged version:

Roger Miller-King of the Road (redneck, I know, but still a damn good song)
Rolling Stones-Sympathy for the Devil
Schubert- Erlkonig (opera singer, had to pick a classical one too)
Pink Floyd-The Wall (I consider the album one long kick ass song)
Jet-Look What You've Done

 :D :D :D :D

That was hilarious...might do that myself.  And what is the deal with Ave Maria?  I have not even talked to them and I got a scholarship offer from them yesterday.  They must be hurtin' for numbers cause mine are not stellar.

Elvis Presley...how many of you supposed "philanthropists" gave away pink caddies at random, not to mention sweaty scarfs?   8)

:D  This is gonna be fun!!!

I hear, and this definitely makes me happy, that while Baylor students are the most competitive, the atmosphere is not like that at all.

Baylor!!!  Waco sucks, but the Baylor campus is gorgeous and the new law school is out of this world.

eh, whenever i hear waco I think Janet Reno Vs. David Koresh

Yeah, that was me too before I started there for my undergrad...then I realized Waco sucked on it's own merit, not just because of the Davidians!

28 years old with a BM from Baylor and MM from SMU, both in vocal performance (opera).  When the auditions did not work out for me I took an entry level position at a mortgage company, needless to say I have been bored to tears!  Also have another job waiting tables to help pay for loans.  Decided enough was enough, took the LSAT and applied to Baylor for the Spring and nowhere else...I figured if I did not get in I would apply to SMU and Wesleyan.  I think the WE definitely helped cause my numbers (3.3/158) are average at best.  I think the fact that I went to Baylor for my UG helped alot despite their protest to the contrary.
Does anyone think I should have applied anywhere else?  I consider myself lucky to get into Baylor...

I think you're a contender at any other law school in TX except UT... and I'd even apply there if I were so inclined. I thought you had your heart set on Baylor, but if not.... certainly throw it up the flagpole and see who salutes!

Thanks, I do have my heart set on going to Baylor and it would be my first choice out of all of the others, except for UT...I just feel strange only applying to one school.  I guess I should not complain!
