I was admitted from the waitlist on Wednesday (4/24/05).  Letter was dated 4/20/05, postmarked 4/23/05.

No additional interaction other than returning the waitlist card.

Deposit deadline (must be received by admissions) May 5, 2005.

Now must decided between IU-Indy with in-state tuition or U of M during finals week.  Fun.

Has anyone requested and been granted an extension on a deposit deadline?  If so, from whom and how long was your extension?

In off Miami's waitlist today

Choosing the Right Law School / One week to decide...IU-Indy or Miami?
« on: April 27, 2005, 12:47:00 PM »
Was admitted off the University of Miami waitlist today.  I have until May 5th to decide (no chance of visiting before then).

Have submitted a refundable deposit at IU-Indy.

I am an Indiana resident, so the expenses at IU-Indy would be significantly less.

Is there enough of a difference in quality of the two schools to justify the additional expense?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Stats are 158/3.91

I would definetly consider OSU if pulled from the waitlist.  It is actually my 5th waitlist :(.  American, IU-B, Miami, Valpo, OSU.  Blah :(

Got my waitlist letter today.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: Iran/ What's to Come?

The interesting part of this is the finances of it all.  The U.S is running on a deficit higher than ever before in U.S. history.  With the problem of Social Security and the AMT looming, as well as escalating expenses in Iraq and the lack of probability of withdraw any time soon, is military action really feasible?  Federal revenues are at the lowest in 50 years According to "Fiscal Fantasyland" (Economist, 4/9/05).  With a lack of significant allies (Britain would be highly unlikely to risk another Middle East War)
the expense of an additional war in a nation that is three times the size of Iraq in both geography and population is highly questionable....

Also interested in how the open house went.  Was on the way when I lost the breaks in my car.  Definetly not an experience I would like to repeat.  Needless to say, I missed the program.  Anything of interest?
