Anyone got a suggestion for a pre-orientation get-together venue? I'm open to anywhere with Shiner Bock!

Congrats on the House!

We may be buying one next year after our lease is up at Savoy, BUT with all the hail storms and tornado's this time of year its making me think twice about buying a house because if I keep renting that's their problem not mine! hehe, petty I know but its definately something to consider.

We definately need to hit some place in the depot district before or during orientation so we all can meet up! My best friend is helping us move down driving the uhaul for us and he's taking a week paid vacation and staying with us down here. I keep trying to get him just to pack his stuff and move!

oh, and a little bird told me that financial aid is not much further away and they did hire someone next year to do the financial aid awards in-house.

Wreck'em Raiders!!!!!!

I will be in Lubbock either August 4th or 5th depending on how many nights I stay on the road.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!

I've been to both. You can call me biased, but I think you're waaay off base with whose facilities are better. South Texas seemed like an office building. Tech has a much nicer facility in my opinion.

If you want to stay in H-town then go to south texas, if you just want to stay in texas. Tech is a better option.

Not trying to start a pissing match, just my opinion.

BTW- what is "dusting?"

HAHA! Kinda like mudding, or off-roading, but there isn't any mud, so dusting is the next best alternative!

Name?    Brian

Age?     22

Hometown?     North Canton, OH

Undergrad school?     Walsh Univerisity (small private catholic university)

Why Texas Tech?     Began as a back-up to SMU. Ended up being accepted to both Tech and SMU. Tech had given me early on a substantial scholarship and in-state tuition. Upon visiting all the schools, I could easily tell which school fit my laid back style better. I never will be a gunner. Only a cynic and a narcisist. I want to go into corporate and banking law and the american bank lawyer publication as well as the reputation of John Kramer in UCC Law sealed the deal. Tech is a school that is up and coming in the state of Texas which is perfect for me because Texas is the only state I wish to practice law in. I echo the sentiments of all the other posters on this board. Tech impressed me enough to turn down my first choice SMU in favor of Tech.

What do you like to do for fun?     Playing all kinds of sports, watching college ball first with the pro's second, roadtrips and tailgating, fishing, golf (i'm not that good though), hunting, going to rodeo's, and just hanging out at bars and restuarants trying different foods and drinks

Anything else we should know?     I love grilling out for tailgates, I love cycling, I'll be riding one of my bicycles to school every day that its not raining mud or snowing!

HAHA! This is great. I'm glad to see more people coming out of the woodwork. I think we have the whole entering class of fall '05 on here now. Y'all are the best.

I think this post, as a whole, sort of represents the demeanor of Texas Tech Law as a whole (faulty logic, I know). Tech students in my experience are fairly laid back. I think all of us on here are the same way whereas the LSD dicussion board is the home to a lot of self-admitted Gunners for lack of a better term. I'm certainly not a gunner! I'm a cynic at best! A narcisist at worst! HAHA! Great to meet y'all!

I'm Brian you those of you who don't know yet. I'll post again after work!

That's good, Savoy was really nice. If I don't find a house in Tech Terrace that I like next year. I'll probably just stay there for all three years.

Well my car bit the dust today so I'm going out to shop for a pick-up truck tonight. Here's to hoping I have a brand new car by the weekend!

HAHA! Nah, Try this:
