On the original topic, I lean conservative and am a Christian, but can see real merit in the argument for legalizing at least some drugs.  Maybe float a trial balloon with pot before getting to cocaine, though.

I wouldn't mind seeing weed legalized, could be a huge tax base and relieve some of the income tax pressure.

Tax base is good, regulation/safety is good, getting a money stream out of the hands of organized crime/street thugs is good.  I would make the penalties extremely severe if you harmed another person under the influence of the substance (i.e. kill someone in a car wreck with pot in your system) and would definitely ban it in public places.

We're gonna start putting Mongoloids up there next.  I can feel it.

OK.. I'm normally the last on the PC police wagon (and really hate most of that crap), but the term is Down's.  Furthermore, please don't insult them.  They don't have a choice, Nixon and slick Willy did.

Sorry, the post about people being on here on a Saturday night was just meant to imply that it seems all the liberals have gone to bed.

Clearly, I'm in no place to hate since I'm sitting here on a Saturday night  ;D

Why do you assume that since I'm in the military I'm conservative?  I'm actually a liberal and voted for Kerry.  So there!  The military is full of liberals who are proud to serve.

woohoo.. a liberal on the board that isn't a college idealist!  I like it!

Aw, man, I love Hurt by Johnny Cash.  I thought that was his.

That version is VERY different from the original.  He certainly put his own unique stamp on it if thats any condolence.

How'd you go crazy, vagrant?  I blame the kids.

Partially genetic, partially way too much math in engineering school.

Do all the liberals sane, rational LSDers go to bed early?  Or maybe just have lives on a Saturday night...

I am curious what you think about all the money Moore made from his movies.  If he is so compassionate about the Iraqis and families of soldiers killed in Iraq, why isn't he giving away his money to them?

You could say that about anyone who claims to have compassion for a certain group/cause.

Actually, I would make that case for most people who are actually profiting directly from a cause.  I sincerely hope a couple country singers are donating major amounts of money to our troops and their families right now (and I think they are.. though I should look into it more).

See, I know I'm not sane... haven't been in YEARS.. but I also know I don't know everything in the world and NOTHING is as black and white as you make it.

OH.. and I'm married and my wife requires about 2 hours more sleep a night than me, so I get bored and heckle unsuspecting easy targets on LSD once in awhile.
