Deferred...  Got over a 50% shot on Chaishu...  so I guess we'll see how this plays out.

I got defered too.  I guess we'll see what happens.  I've over a 50% chance of acceptance according to Chiashu.

I'd almost rather they hold off on sending something until they know.  Still, that "We'll let you know by May" thing is nonsense... don't most schools want a commitment in April?

That's too bad, man.   :(

I'm hoping to hear from them soon... so I'm curious about your stats as well.

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Re: Loyola Law School (LA)
« on: December 08, 2004, 05:51:27 PM »
Eh... Loyola's fine.  There are some older buildings that are in a state of disrepair around there, but it's right down the street from Staples Center, and that whole part of downtown is booming with development.  New condos, etc.

I wouldn't call Southwestern sketchy either... but it's in a less desirable spot than Loyola.

You can always get money.  Private loans will cover up to the school's nonsensical budget, and other private loans are available for whatever else you need.  Bank one has a consumer loan for students that exists outside of the student loan budget.

[Orange County is actually a great place to live.  You have LA and SD close by but none of the problems that go along with either.  There a bad parts and good parts, but overall, OC is a great place.

I suppose if you live there, it's nice... but there's no real reason to visit.  The homes are certainly pretty to look at... but there's not much of anything interesting to do.  Those of us who live in LA proper hate having to go down there.  Traffic from hell and this weird punk-pop-skateboarder-rich-kid thing that they have going on.

On the upside... they do have some nice hockey equipment stores.   :)

But anyway, let's not hijack the post.  Pepperdine is in Malibu, which is not in Orange County.

pepperdine's nice... but orange county blows.

Of course, Pepperdine isn't IN Orange County...  but the Orange Curtain does blow.

The reputation is pretty solid in Los Angeles, but don't think about working anywhere else.  I have a friend at Pepperdine who's slowly starting to accept that she won't be able to get a job in New York, despite top 1/3 grades and a bunch of impressive clerking experience.

Thanks for the info gentlemen and/or ladies!  The place definitly is beautiful, and those stats look pretty promising.  I should pick up one of those US News monster guides.  That thing sounds useful as hell.

Anybody else have any thoughts?  Anybody else applied?  Accepted?  Going?
