Where should I go next fall? / Re: Deposits for Columbia, Hofstra, Cornell, NYLS, St. John's & San Diego?« on: March 21, 2005, 03:33:53 PM »
San Diego is April 1.
I'm in Arizona and wondering about the UIUC degree out west as well. I think I've decided to take the full scholarship and head to the midwest. UIUC is very well respected in teh legal community, and with little debt, one could always find a job with a botique firm out west making less money. Also, I think that UIUC would place better throughout the country than UA, ASU or San Diego. Though I love the west, I think it's three gry skies on the horizon for me.

USD- $150 April 1; more if you were given a scholarship.
jules, I was doing some reading about GW and I think you just can't go wrong with that choice- great school, great location and great national rep. As for me Illinois is running at the front and close to running away with this thing. ASU and WUSTL 2 and 3-USC, which orginally was my #1 choice, gave me $0, and I can't justify $150,000 when I have other options that I like. So now UCLA and the elusive scholarships (Clever insertion to avoid thread hijack) are the only way I'll end up in LA.

Do you want to be a lawyer?
In you current job do you have the ability to gain ownership in the company? If you waited maybe 15 years to start your small business you could have 8 years of partner level salries under your belt giving the law degree the big leg up if you current job didn't have similar prospects.
