Lawrence is awesome, although I don't know what bars the law students go to -- there are a lot of undergrads here!

i've seen some of them at wheel.....

Yes, you're right.  They love the wheel.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Merit-Based Scholarship Central

I got 10K from Colorado for my first year and full-tuition+ at Nebraska (I'm in-state there).  Most of the state schools I applied to offer 10K for incoming students as their highest scholarship, making it full-tuition for the in-staters and cutting it in half for out-of-staters.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Chicago-Kent open house

I also was very impressed with Chicago-Kent, but I am concerned that no one recognizes the name unless they have a friend that goes there or they are looking at schools too.  I didn't even know about it until this summer.
I had the college campus experience at KU (go jayhawks!) so I am definitely ready for the city, so can't help with the IU-B dilemma.

I just visited Kent (and Northwestern) this weekend and I was very impressed.  All the professors took time out on a Sat. to teach mini-classes at their open house and really seemed to enjoy their jobs.  The building and library are both in amazing condition and I was extremely impressed with basically everything I saw.
Nothwestern was obviously nice too, but in the class I went to see, the professor didn't know anyone's name.  I'm not sure -- maybe this is normal??  Northwestern is old and neat -- it looks like the law school of the movies.  Kent is new and modern.  I definitely think it's up and coming.  Not that they are easy to compare considering the rankings.  Just some food for thought.

I found out I got into U of Colorado about 2 or 3 weeks after applying.  How do I ask them about my chances for a scholarship?  Has anyone just called up a school and asked?

I go to KU right now too.  I've talked to some of the professors and the Dean and they were all great.  I know some of the students and they are all very smart and down-to-earth.  Not sure about job prospects, although it is the best law school in the KC Metro area.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Loyola Chicago
« on: December 14, 2004, 04:09:44 PM »
I looked at all the Chicago schools to find good IP programs and Loyola is actually lower than Kent and DePaul, even though Loyola stats are higher.  I think because of the connection Kent has with the Illinios Institute of Tech. it has an advantage over the other schools in the IP world -- at least in science and tech cases.
Anyways, I still might apply to Loyola, but there are so many essays...right now I have apps in at Northwestern and Kent and I hope that Kent offers me some money.

I'm the same.  I am definitely interviewing and am going to try to highlight the work I am doing until law school.  (I graduate in December.)  We'll see how it goes!

U of Colorado
Chicago - Kent
U of Kansas
U of Nebraska
(I go to U of Kansas and I am from Nebraska!)
I'm going to tell my parents about you all -- I thought they would kill me for applying to this many schools!
But honestly, these are only if money didn't matter and it does!
