I was afraid of the same thing but I put my trust in Tim Burton and Depp. I don't think they would have approached it if they couldn't do a great job.

Johnny Depp.

The guy defines cool. He's not a media whore. He chooses great roles and great films to play in. He is a humanitarian. Gifted Actor. Has the balls to criticize the U.S. and voice his opinion despite bad media attention. He's a budding rock musician and he's Edward Scissorhands.

Enough said.

Congratulations, I am waitlisted too and hope to hear (crossing fingers) soon.

Did you do anything after you found out you were waitlisted? Did you call, write, send extra info, LOR, Letter of Continued interest, visit?

Also, how did they notify you and if you may please provide your numbers?

Sorry for all the questions but I am realy getting anxious with all my waitlists

Peace and best of luck in the fall.

I think my only hope is to hunt down the Adcomms at the schools I've been waitlisted at and "persuade" them accept me.

Wow, I didn't know about being held to a contract if I defered my seat at a law school. I was hoping to create a safety net.

Well, I called Whittier and was told to send in my paperwork ASAP. They said that I still might be eligable, but now that the thought of reapplying has crossed my mind, I am taking a second look at it. If I reapply with a new LSAT score and score in the 160's I can possibly get into better schools and even if I don't I'm sure Whittier will offer me some $$ with a better LSAT score. Would anyone else do this if they were in my shoes?
I just don't know if I should find a job with a law firm my this year as I reapply or if I should find a job that pays better and I enjoy? I don't want to be an attorney's b*tch or do billing. What can a person with a degree in Bio and Psych do at a law firm?

I need some help. I was accepted to Whittier law and waitlisted at about 7 other schools. I don't really want to go to Whittier but if I go I hope to transfer to Loyola or Southwestern after a year depending on my grades as a 1L. My dilemma is that Whittier is the ONLY school I have been admitted to near Los Angeles and I don't know if I can go.

The story:

I ran into my neighbor today and he tells me that he has a letter for me. I go to his place to pick up the letter and I see that it's from Whittier. The letter, dated April 2nd, was a financial aid letter asking me to reply with my tax info and other stuff for me to be eligable for financial aid. The letter also states that MAY 1st is the deadline for me to submit my papers to be eligable. I received this letter TODAY. I cannot afford law school in any way. I have $0 income and my parents are flat broke.

The question:

Should I ask to defer my seat until next fall and in the meantime retake the LSATs and reapply? I was thinking I could get a decent job the year I wait to apply and maybe I can save up some money and even have a decent LSAT score.

My numbers are 2.8/155

My only other options is Thomas Jefferson in San Diego (don't want to move out that far from Los Angeles) or wait and hope my waitlists come through.

What do I do?

Interview??? I haven't heard of the school doing that before. What were your numbers if you dont mind me asking and what did the letter say exactly?

Best of Luck

Wait List / Re: WTF... Chapman and Villanova Waitlist

I'm actually working on a letter of continued interest hoping Chapman pulls through. I was thinking, what if I get into Villanova??? I dont want to move to the east but if I get in I just might go. I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm thinking it would be easier to transfer from Villanova (ranked 63rd) back to california, maybe Loyola or maybe even UCDavis or Hastings.

I called Villanova on yesterday and they told me I was WLed and that I should be getting notification in the mail soon. I have a fairly good relationship going with the assistant dean so I can maybe call her and ask her. I just dont want to annoy her with questions. I called her about 3 days ago asking about my waitlist status and if I should send in another LOR but she said that if I already have 3 on file than it wouldnt be necessary. I dont know if that was her way of saying "no, dont send it, it's useless".

Yes it does hurt being a Bio major, I started off as Pre-med and eventually realized that I have zero desire to go into medicine. I decided to double major in Psychology and minor in Education my senior year so I took 5 years to graduate. My GPA for my 4th and 5th year was a 3.7 but it didnt seem to help my overall GPA.

Best wishes
