The first reading assignments are ready for Southwestern so I've been reading up on Torts and Crim Law and I should be finishing up Contracts this weekend. I started using E&E's for these classes and it seems to be helping. I.A.N...? making guesses in my head. Peace 22

I got off the waitlist about a week ago and I'll be starting the evening program this August. Anyone else attending?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Southwestern or Chapman?« on: August 11, 2005, 02:54:23 PM »Wow. You and I are / were in the same boat. until today I have been stuck with Chapman v. Southwestern for the same reasons - nice campus v. LA established name. What swayed you? I don't know what to do myself. My decison was made on a few factors. I searched through NALP to see what firms recruit at both schools and SW came on top. SW is 12 miles from where I live so I can commute my first year. If I were to go to Chapman I would need to move out and I cannot afford to take more loans. I know a good number of people attending SW so I don't feel as if I'm going in blind. Hope you can make a decision that you're satisfied with. If you are interested with Entertainment Law I would definitely choose SW. Peace 27

I called Chapman and declined the offer. SW makes much more sense. I went to the bookstore today to get my LR&W books...looking forward to starting soon.

I'm stuck betweem Southwestern (PT) or Chapman (FT). I don't mind going PT so I can work a little and try to pay my way. I am hoping to get a job at Skadden, Arps, Slate... through an Associate friend of mine so I might be able to make some useful contacts. I would also prefer to stay in LA for work. Chapman would not allow me to work but at least I can finish in 3 years and I really like the area and campus. I like the fact that it's associated with a university and is across the street from the undergrad campus. Going to Chapman will also allow me to apply to the JD/MBA program that SW does not offer.

it's a tough choice to make but you should be glad that you're in a position to make this decision. Have you tried using one school as leverage over the other for scholarship money? It might be worth a shot, I know many people on this board have tried before but it needs to be done very delicately
