Casca,

the point isn't "who still uses it", but "who has EVER used it".
If they have logged all activity, a lot of people are possibly in trouble.

Someone on slashdot did the calculations and figured out that it would cost them about 110k/year to log all the data. They were making decent coin and could have probably afforded that easily.

Just imagine if the RIAA or MPAA got a hold of all the records since Kazaa's inception.
Can anyone say... see you in court? (to 5 million people).

Of course they would still have to get names from the ISPs, but the RIAA has already had some luck.

P.S. Unfortunately this applies to users of Kazaa Lite and Linux Versions as the logging seems to have been done server-side.

Court Docs Reveal Kazaa Logging User Downloads

The most explosive documents in the ongoing Kazaa court case have emerged today, including logs of discussions between parent company Sharman and the Estonian developer of the Kazaa Media Desktop. They include extraordinary admissions like: "Reporting will make Kazaa look like spyware, as soon as it becomes evident we record downloads and playbacks, users will flee to competitive networks" and then "One can argue that we have knowledge of copyrighted material being downloaded in our network and have to install filters. If we are reporting [gold] files, then technically we could do the same for every file." Finally, "RIAA [could] collect the IP addresses for everyone who has searched for or downloaded that file." Despite the Kazaa developer's concerns over these issues, Kazaa went ahead with the logging." (More below.)

Warne continues "APC Magazine journalist Garth Montgomery, who has covered every day of the trial in the Australian Federal Court, says: "In a nutshell, this has got to rate as the most explosive document revealed. It makes it damn near impossible to maintain the separation theory that Sharman and Altnet rely on in terms of business independence and technical infrastructure. The control they exercise over the system is complete." Montgomery has also scanned in all the documents and made them available in PDF format, including the confidential Kazaa purchase contract and technical specifications for the Kazaa Media Desktop."

It really has been pathetic lately.

It looks like there isn't really an answer... as intended by the director (from wikipedia)

"There is no way to determine whether or not Teddy is telling the truth about Lenny's wife. We don't know if she's alive or dead, and if she died, whether it was from the robbers or insulin overdose. There are a couple cryptic scenes intended to mislead us--one black and white shot where Sammy is sitting in a chair, and for a brief instant he turns into Lenny, and a shot at the very end of the movie where Lenny is lying in bed with his wife (who's supposed to be dead, no matter which version of the truth you believe) with his shirt off, and we can see that he has an extra tattoo: "I did it." He talked about getting this tattoo earlier (or later, chronologically speaking), but he never did.

There is also the matter of the limited edition DVD. There are three versions of the director's commentary. On one of them, he says that Teddy is lying. On another, he says that he's telling the truth. On the third, he doesn't say anything either way.

The message of the movie, as explained to us by Leonard, is this: the truth doesn't matter. Lenny can never have an entirely complete, accurate picture of the truth, and neither can we. But "the world doesn't just disappear when you close your eyes", and so Lenny struggles on with it, anyway."

Guys... it told in the movie who killed her.

When the memory problem guy is talking to the other guy that fucks with his memory, the guy says "no you found and killed him a long time ago, but you forgot"
