Law School Rankings / Re: Winners & Losers of the 2006 Rankings« on: March 28, 2005, 06:49:16 AM »
Honorable mention should go to American, up 9 places from T2 to T1 and USD, up 4 (67 to 63). Those and Tulane were the biggest gainers in my application pool. UGA was the biggest loser, down 5. They're still the highest-ranked school I've been admitted to so far, though.

Update: I'm in, and excited about it. I think it's my #1 choice of the schools that have accepted me. Good luck to those still waiting.

Where should I go next fall? / what is regional vs. national according to US News« on: March 25, 2005, 06:17:20 AM »
Alright. Loyola (CA) = regional. USD = national. Why? Does anyone know the criteria this magazine uses to determine whether a school is regional or national? I used to think it had to do with the percentage of grads who stayed in-state after graduation. But that makes less sense to me now. So how does US News figure this out and how useful is this categorization?
