Studying for the LSAT / Re: LG BIBLE

I'd love a LR bible in pdf. format.  My e-bay transaction hasn't arrived yet.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Kaplan
« on: November 23, 2004, 01:11:15 PM »
I took the full length Kaplan course and was also unhappy with the results.  There were also many people in my class repeating and who also decided to use their higher score guarantee because they were not ready.  I immersed myself in Kaplan's techniques and studied like a mad woman and did not improve the way that they predicted.  My actual LSAT score was lower than my final diagnostic.  I could have studied on my own and done much better.  After the Oct LSAT, I started studying with the bibles and noticed an immediate difference.  First thing - don't read the question stem first.  I don't know WHY Kaplan teaches that, but it totally screwed me up for LR.

Law School Admissions / Re: American requests Report

When did you apply?  I applied on 10/15 and they still haven't requested.

Thanks

All hope is not lost.  If you are sure that you will get a better score in December, take the LSAT again.  Call the schools that you have applied to and ask them to hold your file until it is updated with a new LSAT score.  Depending on where you applied, they may just take the higher score.  All schools don't just average, and even with those that do average, you can still talk to them if there was a special circumstance.  I would try to visit the campus and talk directly to someone on the AdComm or even the Dean of Admissions and ask for advice (yes, this is possible).  Putting a face with your name always helps.

Anyone else having trouble today?  I guess we are all trying to get this done before the EA/ED deadline.  My internet explorer crashes every time I open the app. >:(

Law School Admissions / Re: Send School SAT scores?
« on: November 05, 2004, 08:58:53 AM »
I called and ordered a report with my score.  It has been 10 years, so they had to get it out of the archives.  It cost $30 and will be delivered in 3-5 weeks.

I called this number (212) 713-8000, then they connected me with the department that handles old scores for Granny's like me. ;)

Law School Admissions / Re: Georgetown extending EA/ED deadline
« on: November 04, 2004, 08:38:55 AM »
The only reason I received the e-mail was because I initially started an application on their website, then I switched to using the LSACD on the web.  I still haven't applied to G-town yet....ran out of money!

Law School Admissions / Georgetown extending EA/ED deadline
« on: November 01, 2004, 02:54:56 PM »
Their website was down last week.  So they are extending the deadline to Nov. 5.  That may also help those applying who are having a bad experience with LSDAS.  I received an e-mail notification of this today.

Also, I eased some of my pain with LSDAS by sending all of my materials directly to one particular customer service representative.  She was even nice enough to call me when she received documents.

Just curious - where did you take the test?  I also took in DC and my proctor was on crack.  We started the writing sample too early because he was totally confused.
