HUSL offers health insurance.  The info was in the packet of forms to fill out that came from the Dean of Student Affairs.

Intensive Legal Methods is from 10am (thank God) to 1pm.  Then we have workshops every day from 1:30-2:30 every day.  You can print out the full schedule from the website.

Good luck on getting a spot tomorrow Cam.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

oh ok, thanks guys! :)

Well after talking to the Dean of admissions looks like i'll know for sure tomorrow whether or not I get to offically join you guys as 1L's at Howard.
PLEASE LET SOMEONE NOT SHOW UP TO ORIENTATION SO THAT I MAY ATTEND!!!! ;D

This rationale applies to every school then, right.  So basically, everyone at Harvard is more academically accomplished and qualified than anyone at a school outside the T14?

Here's the thing:  Pretty much everyone at Harvard is more academically accomplished and qualified than anyone at Howard.

What about the one drop rule?

So, if everyone with African roots born in America - whether the roots were planted 5 generations or 1 generation ago -- calls themselves African American, does it undermine the culture established by blacks in America?  My cultural identity is completely different than a Nigerian friend of mine whose parents were born in Nigeria, but we both call ourselves African American?

Do my questions make any sense? Probably not (especially now that I am re-reading it) but whatever... :D

Howard.

I should go to the beach -- but I am really not trying to spend any money.

Maybe I'll assemble some sticks and dirt on my balcony with a bucket of water and a beach ball, make a margarita and lay on a beach towel and pretend!!!

So after all of my panicking this morning, I receive a welcome email from my school with a little bit of info about Orientation and an invitation to sign up for the mentoring program.  The last line of the letter was:

"P.S. Don’t worry about next year; we’ll take care of you."

Perfect timing!  I feel better now. ;D

Which law school is this?

Thnx Blq!

I wish I were on a beach somewhere!!!  I am enjoying my last days -- but I know that I shouldn't get used to having this much sleep!

The printer was great for only $79 and I didn't have a printer.  I also plan to use the printers at school the majority of the time.  Especially since cartriges for this thing are $99!!!

I also got the Dell Inspiron 700, though at the time I did not know about the tech bargains so i ended up buying a fairly fast unopened computer off ebay for $900. That meant forgoing the laser printer deal, though.  Do you think that a printer is necessary? I brought my inkjet to undergrad but ended up using the computer lab's laser printer anyway.  I was just planning on using the computer lab at uva.  But a laser printer would be nice!

Do you notice that if you start to type on the laptop keyboard while the wireless is plugged in, the characters are all wrong on the laptop keyboard.....or is my computer f'd up???

why not just buy a wireless keyboard and mouse so your hands aren't totally mutilated by the keyboard and touchpad at the end of the day. While at home why not? It is bad enough using the cramped keyboard that all laptops have all day in class. I'm using a wireless notebook mouse for class as well.

I don't have an external monitor or anything but I have a laptop stand that rasises the laptop up more to eye level so I don't have wiplash from staring down at the screen all day. These things are for comfort, and anything to delay carpal tunnel or a sore neck should be considered.

It would be heavier than the one I have.  My screen is great though - I really like the 12 inch xtra brite.

I just prefer to feel like I am using a desktop at home...and surfing the net with a real mouse is easier IMO.  Eventually, I am also going to buy a full-size monitor to use at home also so that I have a complete docking station.

Why not just buy a laptop that has a sufficient monitor, and a keyboard you can use?
