Law School Applications / Re: Year off
« on: January 22, 2007, 08:00:59 PM »
I'm pretty set on a year off after undergrad for a number of reasons. For one, I'll be graduating in 3 years and want to further show my maturity. Two, I want to have plenty of time to study for the LSAT. Three, the purpose of the hiatus is to better my chances at the better Universities, not to rest or party for a year.

With that said, what is the best activity for a year off? Volunteering in a pro-bono law firm? If the summers and breaks during undergrad are spent interning and working in politics and economics, should I then show my interest with law during this year off? Is it good to spend an entire year at one place to show dedication or does it matter? Thanks a lot.
Some people think Teach for America helps your chances of admission
But my personal vote is for something that BOTH helps you save up money for law school AND gives you some experience so you're sure you want to go through this hell. Added bonus if it's something that helps your resume so you can get a real job, whether or not you go to law school ;)

I have 4 BFF...and make friends easily but it's difficult to find people who "exhibit mutually helping behavior" over the long run(thanks Google & Wiki)

Late lunch / early dinner: sushi (tried sea urchin, not nearly as horrible as everyone makes it sound  ::) )
And 3 bottles of Sake (which is gross, really)
Followed later with tequila shots and a sunset Hollywood sign hike
A haircut

14 inches :o

Aw sara...I'm sure your hair is beautiful at any length!
thanks! :D

Free lunch at my job, but I'm leaving at 12:30 (Christmas shopping half day, but I have a hair appt) so I'm missing it  :(

Do companies in the US give their employees a half day for Christmas shopping?
Not any of the ones I know... but the day after Thanksgiving is suppose to be the busiest shopping day of the year and people usually have that day off so maybe yes! ;)
