I will not argue against Chicago, but I disagree with your statements regarding both SF & NYC.  SF definitely has a lot of heart & if you like midwesterners, there are tons there.  NYC is the one place where people live there because they are truly in love with the city, in almost a romantic way, not just because they are from there.

I think there are other factors that put these two over Chicago, the main one being that these are the two world class cities in the US.

Not to hijack, but Chicago is 3rd at most. 1) SF, 2) NYC....Boston, on the other hand, might as well be Philly.

when people say, "talk to" instead of "talk about," as in "I am going to talk to that subject in a minute..."

People actually say this??? Lordy.

"Between you and I," "Help her and I," "Better for her and I" ...It just makes my blood boil and I hear every 2 minutes on reality tv (Hey Amazing Race contestants- try some Amazing Grammar!)

Also, anyone using phrases they obviuosly don't understand. "We'll burn that bridge when we get to it" instead of cross that bridge. And especially "which begs the question." I heard it in a Lexus commerical. Does nobody proof-read anymore?

"talk to" is big in the corporate world.  If you ever listen to an earnings call, you will hear it about 15 times.

Chicago is one of the great cities in the US.  Boston is an over the hill TTT.

Which reminds me: I don't like when people say "the" before a highway name, like "I took the I-5 south to San Diego."

People who talk about their ex all the time.  I don't care about how you hated your ex or how you saw him/her the other day, really I don't.

was this aimed at me???  :-[

supervisors who speak improperly.

like saying "libary" and "subsidirary"?  'Cause those are two of mine...
