i think the story of how effective kobe is is not as big as how ineffective shaq is becoming as each game goes on.

i've only seen 2 recent games with him...yesterdays and the one against the suns...and he just can't keep up anymore...blame injuries or age but he just isn't that big of a force.

wade had some crazy drives.  he's now one of my favorite players.

« on: January 16, 2006, 02:03:09 PM »
umm...i dont think anybody here is arguing that temple is an unsafe part of philadelphia.  I  also don't think that anybody here is arguing that temple is in a dangerous part of philadelphia.  You have pointed out the obvious.

And now I will point out the obvious...even though it's been repeated in this thread numerous times...If a school is in a dangerous location...just be more cautious.  done.

Now in reference to what you said about temple being the worst school out of temple nova and rutgers...thats subjective so you can have that.

One thing though...you said you would not want to go to school in the bloated philly market....as a lawyer looking for a job in law...isn't it usually the case that most markets are bloated.

boston has how many schools competing for jobs in its market?  i count at least HLS, bu, bc, neu, nels, suffolk....not including kids from all the other top 14 schools.  isn't that kind of bloated.

I didn't like the area either...but it's like any other city...use your head and you'll be fine...don't walk alone at 2 am.  they have escorts available to walk you to your car at all times i think.

I hate to say it, but North Philly as its own separate neighborhood is not like any other city.

almost all cities have parts of it that one should be careful in because of safety concerns...i don't see how the logic would differ whether in an unsafe part of NYC, Boston or Philly.  The point is to remain safe.

I went to visit Temple in mid-december when they had tests going on...and they didn't have any scheduled tours or anything like that...but one of the admissions directors actually walked me around campus and spent over thirty minutes answering questions...then because I'm interested in int'l law and such, she walkd me over to the international law/study abroad program coordinator...who spent another 30 minutes tlaking to me and answering questions.

To spend that much time on somebody is too nice and just speaks volumes about the school and the administration there.

Law School Applications / Re: Anybody hear from Northeastern recently?
« on: January 14, 2006, 12:20:38 PM »
sorry to hear about northeastern...

they have a quarter system with only one week off between quarters.  that is kind of depressing.

cheer up!  suffolk is a great school!!  and once you get accepted to New england maybe you can play them off each other for money since you have a 161

i agree...a 161 is high for those schools so negotiate.

i think New Hampshire doesnt have state income tax...so they take money from out of staters.  i would have so much rather been pulled over by somebody from supertroopers.
