Choosing the Right Law School / Second Thoughts
« on: May 31, 2005, 08:32:47 PM »

I took the LSAT, applied, got in to good school, and then accepted the offer of admission. The past couple weeks, however, have been the first time I actually thought about ATTENDING law school as seriously as ever, and the more I think about it, the more I really don't want to do it. I mean REALLY don't want to do it, not just having cold feet. Every reason I can think of about why I should do have to do with following through, making the most of it, seeking the prestige, and having the credential. There are number of extenuating circumstances, but I am certain that if I went, I would in many ways just be forcing myself to follow through with it. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but I am questioning if maybe I should just listen to my gut and pull out before it's too late... what would you all do? Just curious...

$137 PLUS living expenses? Tuition ad fees are only $23K per year in-state (which everyone can get after 1st year). I'm planning on the budget will be about $120, living expenses included. This makes it about $30K less than most other schools in it's class.

I haven't decided for sure. I'm taking a long trip to Japan this, leaving this weekend, and I hope get some perspective on where/what I want to be doing over there :)

Lgirl - can you petition to get can in-state residency status as after your first year? That would at least be a nice chunk of $$.

How did you manage to get the out-of-state tuition fee waiver? Is that considered a scholarship or grant? I would love to get that for myself at Berkeley...

Waitlisted at Cardozo... after they gave me a fee waiver and told me that people with my numbers had received full rides in the past.

Anybody planning to go tonight?

I hope they have good food....!

Can't go wrong, I would say. Michigan is great school - congratulations on your decision!
