Acceptances / Scholarship $$$$ from Brooklyn« on: March 10, 2005, 01:48:31 AM »
Received notice today that I've been awarded a Prince scholarship of $17,500 per year at Brooklyn Law, to keep the scholarship I have to maintain a cumulative rank that keeps me in the top 1/3 of my graduating class. The letter came snail mail to my permanent address. Those of you waiting to hear, I live in Staten Island so I'd probably be in the first mail wave, the rest are on their way!

I guess by writing once where I have attended college for the past 4 years, and by referring to a note taking system that is used and promoted around the country at various universities (see links below) by its proper name I somehow offended you. You sound like a jackass, thanks for the help.

Good afternoon! The Admissions Committee has started reviewing your file and would like you to submit your fall-term grades. You may e-mail them tome if you would like. Thank you. Linda Humble Assistant Director of Admissions Cornell Law School If they started to review my app on January 31st when are they going to finish??? OK so my audition for Kaplan is Monday and my instructions were to prepare a 5 minute non academic "How To" lesson plan. These are some of the ideas I have as of now:
1- How to use the Cornell Note taking system. (Its actually quite famous and would allow me to demonstrate board technique) 2- How to register a trademark. (I've taken 3 law courses that focus on trademarks, to me this stuff is fun and easy to explain) 3- How to play texas hold-em. 4- How to ___________________. (you fill in the blank) I'm particularly interested in those of you who have done this before, what did you choose as your topic? And what advice can you give me? Thanks. 25

However I actually find this comical because after looking at their 25 or so available scholarships posted on the web not one of them does not have a need component. So if you didn't fill out a financial aid form what scholarships exactly are they considering you for?? To me it appears to be none.

Ok. I just read up on the website here is the deal.
Everyone gets considered for merit aid. However Villanova offers a variety of scholarships based on need and merit, for these you must have submitted your financial aid forms by March 1st to be considered. "All students will be considered for the various scholarships. However, if the scholarship is based on financial need, you need to complete the financial aid process in its entirety by the deadline listed above in order to be considered." 29

Silly me, thats what I get for assuming. I forgot besides law schools the only other place I gave out my apartment address to was the travel agency. It was just a packet of cruise information for Spring break
