Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Wake Forest
« on: March 14, 2005, 11:44:21 PM »
They are a very small law school, they probably filled their quotas and retain no interest in the rest of the applicant pool after that point. I suppose they simply run a tidy ship of getting their class together and ceasing to review as soon as possible.

As expected I got the waitlist letter.

It was quite trite "Your application has been reviewed by our Admissions Committee. You have been placed on the wait list."

As clichéd as superlatives are I thought they were almost a formality from admission's committees, heck I’ve even gotten them in rejections: "We commend the many accomplishments illustrated in your application"- from my GMU rejection. Wake apparently has a different approach!  :-\

Law School Admissions / A theory on why highest LSAT should be taken
« on: March 13, 2005, 08:23:30 PM »
CHEW ON THIS: Here is a hypothetical, you take the lsat and bomb it, say 150 in June 2004 then you take the exam again in say December 2004 and you get a 170. Since the lsat expires after 5 years you could theoretically wait until June 2009 when your first score expires and just apply to schools with the 170. Now because there exists a possible scenario in which you could have only your higher score counted, isn't that grounds to have everyones higher score counted if you take the exam in sequence and improve? ???

I actually think Trade Wonk might be a dude at a distance with pink pants on.

I just got a form letter asking about my remaining interest in Fordham law. However I read on the boards people were getting these letter over a month ago. Do you think its a bad sign I got mine so late? Anyone else get theirs around this time? ?

Ohh yeah and anyone actually get in yet from the Pended category??? ? ?

I'm probably on this list too then. It seems as if all the waitlist letters went out on this date and this is an e-mail I recieved when I wrote about my application .

Dear Justin,
A letter was sent to you on March 7, if you don't receive it within the next few days please let us know.  Thank you for your continued interest in Wake Forest School of Law.
WFL Admissions

Of the 7 or so schools left that I am still interested in:

All e-mail their acceptances out. From those of you who recieved them what were times during the day did you hear?

For whatever reason I struck a sour chord with Cardozo and GMU, could be they evaluated my app before my December score came through?? Ohh well.. with money from BLS I would have to get into a top 20 to consider going elsewhere.
