Wait List / "Reserve" at Cornell

In a letter dated March 22 and my name was placed on "reserve" at Cornell Law. Apparently it is list that helps Cornell keep in line with thier target admission level after they begin to hear back from students already accepted and from which their official waitlist is eventually created.

Is anyone else also on this list? Can anyone tell me what this means and how it differs from a wait-list?

Where should I go next fall? / Fordham University Visit

I'm planning a visit to Fordham tomorrow and I'm just wondering for those of you who have been there or have visited recently if you can give me any insight as to a Saturday visit. Do they run tours on the weekend? Is the facility even open? The website is very unhelpful in this regard. Thanks.

Wait List / When are schools going to start cranking out decisions?

My first deposit is due on April 1st and I still have yet to get a decision from 7 schools.

Looking on LSN more people are still in the "pending" category than any other category. When are these schools going to get a move on things? There has to be some deadline these schools are aiming for no?

Fordham: 146 Pending
GW: 223 Pending
U Penn: 247 Pending
UVA: 253 Pending
NYU: 310 Pending
Cornell: 228 Pending
Harvard: 427 Pending

Law School Applications / A theory on why highest LSAT should be taken

CHEW ON THIS: Here is a hypothetical, you take the lsat and bomb it, say 150 in June 2004 then you take the exam again in say December 2004 and you get a 170. Since the lsat expires after 5 years you could theoretically wait until June 2009 when your first score expires and just apply to schools with the 170. Now because there exists a possible scenario in which you could have only your higher score counted, isn't that grounds to have everyones higher score counted if you take the exam in sequence and improve?

I just got a form letter asking about my remaining interest in Fordham law. However I read on the boards people were getting these letter over a month ago. Do you think its a bad sign I got mine so late? Anyone else get theirs around this time? ?

Ohh yeah and anyone actually get in yet from the Pended category??? ? ?

Acceptances / Scholarship $$$$ from Brooklyn

Received notice today that I've been awarded a Prince scholarship of $17,500 per year at Brooklyn Law, to keep the scholarship I have to maintain a cumulative rank that keeps me in the top 1/3 of my graduating class. The letter came snail mail to my permanent address. Those of you waiting to hear, I live in Staten Island so I'd probably be in the first mail wave, the rest are on their way!

Law School Applications / Kaplan Audition Topic

OK so my audition for Kaplan is Monday and my instructions were to prepare a 5 minute non academic "How To" lesson plan. These are some of the ideas I have as of now:

1- How to use the Cornell Note taking system. (Its actually quite famous and would allow me to demonstrate board technique)

2- How to register a trademark. (I've taken 3 law courses that focus on trademarks, to me this stuff is fun and easy to explain)

3- How to play texas hold-em.

4- How to ___________________. (you fill in the blank)

I'm particularly interested in those of you who have done this before, what did you choose as your topic? And what advice can you give me?

Where should I go next fall? / HELP!!! Which Schools send a large acceptance package?

I'm trying to figure out what law school sent me a package that I cannot get to until Monday.

I've narrowed it down to:

American
Baylor
Wake Forest
NYU
Fordham

Since all of my other schools that I'm interest in send e-mail acceptances and I'm an auto reject at Harvard i've narrowed it down to the above four, has anyone gotten a big package as their first correspondence from any of these schools? Or can eliminate one of these options above?
