The letter is dated April 25th, and I had all the forms in just by their deadline.

95% sure that I'll be going to Brooklyn (unless Boston College or Cornell admit me off their waitlists).

I recieved my financial package from Brooklyn a few weeks, which consisted primarily of loans aside from the merit scholarship. $18,500 in stafford loans (8,500 subsized, 10,000 unsubsidized)  and $2,000 in perkins loans.

I also recieved an e-mail from Jennifer Smith informing me I was assigned a triple in Feil Hall (which was surprising and a bit unwelcomed considering I had only requested singles). However they are really playing up these apartments so I'm assuming they will be really nice.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Cornell Reserve List

I was a regular applicant. And it says they will not be making decisions until further in the admissions season.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / "Reserve" at Cornell
« on: March 28, 2005, 03:17:03 PM »
In a letter dated March 22 and my name was placed on "reserve" at Cornell Law. Apparently it is list that helps Cornell keep in line with thier target admission level after they begin to hear back from students already accepted and from which their official waitlist is eventually created.

Is anyone else also on this list? Can anyone tell me what this means and how it differs from a wait-list?

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Fordham University Visit

yup- it's the only time I have for a visit with school in session and I basically just figured that out.

Choosing the Right Law School / Fordham University Visit

I'm planning a visit to Fordham tomorrow and I'm just wondering for those of you who have been there or have visited recently if you can give me any insight as to a Saturday visit. Do they run tours on the weekend? Is the facility even open? The website is very unhelpful in this regard. Thanks.

My first deposit is due on April 1st and I still have yet to get a decision from 7 schools.

Looking on LSN more people are still in the "pending" category than any other category. When are these schools going to get a move on things? There has to be some deadline these schools are aiming for no?

Fordham: 146 Pending
GW: 223 Pending
U Penn: 247 Pending
UVA: 253 Pending
NYU: 310 Pending
Cornell: 228 Pending
Harvard: 427 Pending

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: In at Cornell.

I noticed on another thread that you were worried becuase you didn't get an e-mail. Did you ever wind up getting one or did Cornell just accept you without one?

Just because a school is proud of a very expensive and very modern addition to their institution doesn't mean they "suck" as you so eloquently put it.

I'm sure their admissions personnel would have addressed any of your concerns, if you only asked. In fact a 3rd year called me the other day just for that reason, I asked her about job placement, work load, etc. she was more than happy to talk to me-- and we spent about 20 minutes on the phone, she answered all of my questions.

Placement stats and info about their academic programs can be found in neat and glossy charts throughout the plethora of admissions material, no doubt, that was already sent to you. I don't think you can fault them on presenting what new projects they are working on. At least they are genuinely concerned about the quality of life of their students and are clearly making it a central concern.

Did your Novasis get updated? I logged on and it said I had no award letter?? Did those of you who recieved aid check your on-line status- did it change?

How did scholarship money fit into your awards?
