General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: New Laptop Models??
« on: June 02, 2005, 08:21:33 PM »

You'll find me using a superior Apple product (17" at 6.9 lbs) in class (I also own a Sony VAIO), and either using my VAIO or the school's desktop for the exam..  I'll probably go with the desktop as I like typing on a real keyboard.

Considering everyones just going to be typing I doubt theres going to be all that much difference between an apple or an ibm laptop or between the guy using his super fly top of the line gaming laptop and someone using a $1500 dell.

The examsoft minimum requirements;

To run successfully, ExamSoft requires a 200 MHz Pentium processor or better laptop computer with 64MB of RAM, and at least 50MB of free hard disk space.

LSAC and LSDAS / Re: Who's received an LSAC Fee Waiver?
« on: June 02, 2005, 08:13:28 PM »
Yep, part of your online file. Try to submit your applicaton through LSACD online and you will see if the fee is waived. Some might want additional forms so it wont be waived automatically, check the schools website. Georgetown I know waives it without forms.

He's asking about getting into law school, not getting a job afterwards. The person who wrote that is on a law school admissions board. Do firms ask people for their LSAT scores? I doubt it.

Dont buy a computer that costs more than $1500 unless you just have money to burn, all you need it for is to run mircosoft word. Don't pay for companies to sell you overpriced RAM. You can buy it yourself at half the price, its not hard to install you just snap it in. Also keep in mind computer manufacturers love extended warranties almost as much as used car dealerships.

What were your numbers Jeff? Or index score if you dont want to reveal numbers. I havent heard anything about financial aid.

That townhouse sounds like a nice deal. I'm amazed you could get a decent 2bedroom for under 1200. I havent even started seriously looking for a place. I wont be able to visit the area before I come in august so I have a feeling housing is going to be a pain.
