Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Ding @ Depaul

Thought it was one of my "safeties."  3.3/156.  Sent October 28. Called on Friday to see if it was complete.  I was told that it was in committee and that I would hear in 2 weeks or less.  Got the reject letter on Monday. At least she wasn't lying about the 2 weeks or less.  I hope thios isn't a sign of things to come.  Hope you all fare better.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Rutger Newark & U Pitt.

I was also born and raised in Pittsburgh (Mt. Washington area) and still live here.  It's a blue collar town with a blue collar attitude.  It's really not as bad as people are saying.  It has the typical amount of crime that any city has in my opinion. As with any city, there are good (Shadyside) and bad (Hill District) parts of town.  Both of these neighborhoods border Oakland, which is where the University is located. If you like an Urban campus, you can't beat it.  If you're looking for a nice, scenic, 'university feel' campus, It's probably not for you.

Boston,

It seems like everyone who calls gets that same response about just going to Adcom.

Is there a sense that a Pitt law degree is viewed favorably in Philadelphia, as well as in Pittsburgh? (How far-reaching is the rep?)

I imagine it's about what your class ranking was when you graduate.  I'm sure it travels to Philly but Philly also has Penn, Villanova, Temple, Rutgers-Camden to pull from.  It definately is held in high regard in Pittsburgh as Duquesne is the only other school in the area.

and does the fact that people who applied after me got in already mean I'm screwed?  Thanks.

I wouldn't call it a 'University atmosphere.' It's an urban campus in a part of the city called Oakland.

Thanks for the hope seankenn.  The wait is killing me.  Did you apply around the same time, 10/28?

bobby, I applied on the 28th too so maybe I'll hear something soon.  Pitt is my first out-of-state choice so I am anxiously waiting with my fingers crossed.  Please post if you get a letter.

Will do. I believe someone else on this board called the same day I did and they told them the same thing so maybe it was BS.  Hopefully it wasn't BS and we'll hear something positive soon.  Good luck.

I applied on 10/28.  I'm not expecting much with my numbers but there's always hope.  I went there undergrad and would love to go to law school there.
