this is the first school i've heard back from and it was a ding a ling. how discouraging

Keep your head up.  My first letter was a rejection.  It was followed 4 days later by 2 acceptances, one of which was from my top choice.  You'll hear some good news soon.

Seeing as though both schools are similar and regional, this thread should be called Pittsburgh or Philly.  It basically comes down to where you'd rather live.  With that said, Pittburgh is better.  The only thing to come out of Filthadelphia is the philly cheese steak and thats just steakum w/ cheezewiz:)

I know.  I thought to myself that I'd be so pissed if I was still waiting on them.  That's a pretty big mistake.

Anyone else get mistake acceptance email from Pitt this week?  I recieved an email this week about student aid for accepted students saying that I was accepted.  It was followed up by an email saying that the acceptance email was a mistake and that it went out to all applicants.  They apologized for the mistake.  It was srange b/c I withdrew my app from there about 3 weeks ago.  Thanks.

All the schools that I talked to said that an email was the best way.  I received responses from all of them confirming the withdrawal of my apps.

Congrats.  If considering IP, it looks like a good option.

If you don't mind staying in Pittsburgh, I'd take the 8K from Pitt.  The tuition is relatively cheap already @ 18.5K/yr for PA residents.  You also have ties to the city already which the firms look at.  I would have definately taken Pitt if I didn't get into Case Western on a binding ED.  I also grew up here and I plan on living working here after I graduate.  If you plan on leaving the city, GW degree would probably travel better.
