Choosing the Right Law School / Re: $$ at Cardozo
« on: February 03, 2005, 12:14:04 PM »
way to go with the full ride!  I'm not sure about the curve, but are you really considering going to Cardozo??  You were accepted at so many amazing schools!  Not that Cardozo isn't a good school or anything, but I would pass up Penn or UVA, etc for it!

Thanks, congrats on your scholarship as well.

I probably won't really consider Cardozo.  It was my safety where I was hoping to get some $$$ because I'm financially risk-aversed and wanted to have a financially reasonable option.  I'll probably withdraw in the next week or two, as I am now at the point where it's just about impossible for me to imagine any scenario where I choose Cardozo over a bunch of other places.

I got a scholarship letter from them today: full tuition, renewable for 2L & 3L with a 3.3 GPA.

Anyone know what kind of curve Cardozo's got?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: In @ Columbia

Ha congrats! Do you know what day the letter is dated? I'm curious if Columbia has sent out another batch (hoping they have.)

[Disclaimer: There is a teensy risk that NYU might log failed login attempts and get annoyed at you for using this method. I would wager, however, that the risk is negligible. It's fairly likely that no record of failed logins is kept; even if it is, there's really no reason they would care that you tried this. If anything, it shows you're very interested in NYU.]

Haha, that would be the absolute worst way to get rejected.  They simply mail a letter which lists your IP Address and your failed login attempts, and one line: "Can't you take a hint?"

Anyway, NYU has a terrible website.  They could definitely use an upgrade.

Well done, congrats to everyone who got in yesterday!

I'm jealous, because I had a very disappointing trip to my mailbox last night when I found nothing from Columbia.

also...

1)  where you want to live post-law school

I think this could be a very important factor, especially if you have a desire to work in the Bay Area.  From what I've heard, it is extremely difficult to break into that market without a strong tie to the area (even with a Columbia JD.)

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: NYU Admit Days?

Gracias.  It looks like April 1 is the popular date for these events - NYU, Duke & GTown all have one that day.

Choosing the Right Law School / NYU Admit Days?

Hey does anyone know what days NYU is having their admitted student events? Their mailing went to my permanent address, and their website is horrible.  Thanks.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: Dave Chapelle vs. Larry David

I've tried to enjoy The Chapelle Show a couple of times, but I just didn't find much of it funny at all; at best, I smirked a couple of times while he did his Black Bush skit, but that's about it.

As for Larry David, I still watch several episodes of Seinfeld every week and can barely contain myself.  I think I need to check out Curb Your Enthusiasm sometime.

Could this be related to part of the mysterious numbers shift?
