OP, I think you have a great mix of schools there.  You should definitely get in to Hofstra, and probably several of the others.  Don't give up hope!

Generally, if they waitlist you, they think you're qualified for law school--they just don't have enough seats to accept you.  Waitlisting is a way to acknowledge anyone who schools think is "almost qualified."  Even if you think you might have been "almost rejected," it's a pretty safe bet that they like you, and would consider accepting you if spots become available.

I got a similar letter from Ave Maria before I applied, and Florida Coastal keeps telling me I qualify.

Unless I can get a career going in mediation/arbitration, this is describes exactly what I intend to do.  Unless I get a gov't job.

Work for a law firm, or if you can find a secretarial-type position, for a judge.  Having a recommendation from an attorney (or a judge) can only help your chances for getting into law school.

I think handwriting or typing is fine.  I'd type, just because my handwriting sucks.

Yes.  On resume paper...note cards aren't considered business-like.

dude where've you been?

My boss started cracking down on Internet usage at work...at about the same time that my home computer blew up.  C'est la vie, I suppose.  Anyways, I'm back.
