Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Syracuse
« on: April 05, 2005, 07:46:19 AM »
I was accepted and my letter stated that the deposits are due on April 1st. I will not be attending, so that will open up one spot for someone on a waitlist. Good luck!

As long as it takes.

I also went from hold to waitlist about a week ago. In roughly 2 weeks Miami will start making decisions on its waitlist. I'll be perusing these boards until then.

Awesome jump on the LSAT!

Thanks, hopefully it will be enough for them to just forget about my first score. I sent an addendum in, but I am not sure if it helped at all since I am still on the waitlist.

Did you take a class or just have a day from hell the first time you took it?

Actually, I took a prep class at a local community college (for a fraction of the fee that Kaplan & Princeton Review charge) for my first attempt at the LSAT. In this case, the cost cutting really didn't help. For my second time around I basically took 3 or 4 practice tests a week for 2 months which seemed to work out better for me.

I agree that the wording is a little harsh in their waitlist package. Perhaps they do this to scare you away from the school in order to make their waitlist decisions easier. Why should the admissions board decide on accepting someone who isn't sure they want to go to Miami in the first place?

Anyone care to share their thoughts on FSU's admitted students day? FSU is in my top 2, but was unable to attend the presentation, would love to hear your thoughts and comments. Thanks!

Same here, FSU is my second choice and I will likely be going there if the waitlist for UM doesn't work out in my favor. I ended up having to do something for work last friday so I was unable to attend the admitted students day. If anyone did attend, what were your thoughts?

If by UM you mean University of Michigan, I would definately pick that over the other 2 though. Either Miami or UF places well in South Florida. UF would be the cheaper of the two and would probably do better for you if you end up deciding on leaving the state. It also places higher in the rankings than Miami does.
