Argh. The wait is killing me.

Still one month to go.

If you haven't heard yet I'd say you're doing pretty good. I just got my rejection this week. Best of luck!

Oh man, I am sorry to hear that. Last I heard was that they are not even looking at the waitlist till July. I guess I was misinformed. Best of luck with the rest of your applications though. It looks like you are probably headed to Whittier.

I can't take it. My job is so mind numbing that I just decided to move my resignation date up almost a month. As of July 8th, I will be unemployed. I will be unproductive at home now instead of unproductive at work. BOAH!

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: TO ARMS! Florida's New Law.

Going to school in Florida?  Out-of-state?   If you’re like me you were told that you would qualify for In-State-tuition for your second and third year.  YOU WILL NOT GET IT.  There is a new bill scheduled to become law in July.  Look here at the Florida Senate (bill 2264)   scroll down to the bill text and view the newest bill.

The new law will prohibit you from earning in-state tuition unless you live and work full time in FL for 12 months.  Attending school during that period disqualifies you.  Other states have had this but it is new in Florida.

I sold my home in Alabama, Quit my job making good money as an educator in Georgia, gave up my seat at every other school that I was accepted, bought an apartment in Tallahassee…and all b/c I was promised in-state fees for the second and third years.  I cannot get my job back, I cannot get my home back, I cannot go to LS anywhere else and I cannot attend FSU at these prices!

FSU in-state = $7,500.00
FSU out-state = $27,500.00

If this effects you then we need to help each other.  Call, write letters, anything you can do to express the hardship imposed by this new law.

Ouch thats rough! I wonder how many people will end up dropping from FSU's incoming fall class because of it. I'm sure that alot of people were planning on going because of the cost benefit of the University.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: To all those on HOLD at FSU.....

They just accepted me over the phone. They said a letter had been sent out on the 24th, but I didn't receive it yet.

Congrats on your acceptance. Maybe we'll start getting more posts about FSU on the board now.

To everyone else, good luck! Hopefully it'll be worth the wait

My fiance and I will be engaged and living apart for the first year, unless I convince her to move, or by some miracle, I am accepted to UM.

FSU by a long shot. After three years you shouldn't be too far in debt with the Florida resident benefit. Addionally, I believe that FSU would afford you more opportunities in the long run that Nova would.

Hey all,
I'm withdrawing before the next deposit and hopefully 9for your sake) others do to. I guess they can redistribute the 16K per year they gave me. I hope an LSDer gets it ;)

Those of us that have not received the letter rejecting us from the waitlist should hear back in July. I am still hoping for an admit, but from the looks of it so far, I will be going to Florida State.
