Politics and Law-Related News / Re: Animal Law on the rise
« on: June 29, 2007, 10:05:04 PM »
yea Alan I made the mistake of making MY first LSD post about animal law, and it quickly deteriorated.  Anyway, I went to the ALDF conference at HLS in March and am going to the HSUS conference in DC this summer (on a scholarship from the ALDF, i LOVE that organization).  The conference at ALDF was very inspiring and we learned a lot about the future of animal law.  So, yes there are plenty of ways to get involved.  If your school doesnt have a SALDF, start one up! We are reviving the group this fall at my school.  Let me know if you have any questions!

hey split!! not bad, how are you?  i forgot if I told you that LInda from our PS is in my class.  She was the older woman who always wore Hypnotic Poison perfume :) haha i know that b/c I used to wear it.  very nice lady.  We are in an 8 week summer session with con and is so tiring.

Financial Aid / Re: GRAD PLUS Questions and Answers 2007
« on: May 01, 2007, 12:29:20 PM »
2.   What is considered to be an adverse credit history?
You are considered to have an adverse credit history if you are 90 or more days delinquent on any debt

I know this constitutes a "ding" on one's credit... I forgot to pay a $50 medical bill for 90 days once... one small ding like that wouldnt be enough to deny a GRADPLUS loan would it?

my understanding on financial aid is that a credit score of 580 or higher should get you a grad plus

not necessarily....from T.H.E. website - the federal requirements are:

10.        What is the credit criteria to obtain the Federal Graduate PLUS loan?
Credit approval is based on federally mandated criteria, not a credit score. In order to qualify, the student may not have any of the following items on their credit report:

Any current delinquency of 90 days or more

Any of the following items within the preceding five years of the date of the credit report:

Default, Bankruptcy, Discharge, Foreclosure, Repossession, Tax Lien, Wage Garnishment, Write-off of a Title IV Debt, Open Collection
