Job Search / Re: Does it make sense to take the FL Bar?
« on: March 01, 2010, 08:36:24 AM »
I'm deciding the exact same thing right now, with one rather weak job lead pending outside of FL. I think just go where you want to for now.  For me, it isn't likely I will find much of a decent job here anyway I might as well go where I want to live.

Well GL.... Hope things start to look up!!!  Congrats on Graduating as well.   As for me, I'm still undecided.  Deadlines are fast approaching though!

Thanks! You too! I am still deciding as well. I can only give myself until the end of this month...ugh!

Current Law Students / Re: Declared Unfit to Sit for the Bar...Now What?
« on: February 17, 2009, 07:36:57 AM »
Hmmm maybe what they really mean is it is more of a pain in the ass to get then the FBI, not that it is harder to pass?  But I've also heard that it is harder to pass....haven't gone through either myself yet.  FL is a PIA overall.

OT but for our local FBI internship they said you must have LE or prior military experience.  That was annoying, I would have loved to apply but I've only got a degree in Crim...no experience.   >:(

Yeaaaa this sounds a lot like the FL bar, they are supposed to be the most strict about C&F and most difficult to pass. Some people say their background test and standards are as stringent as the FBI or more! And they offer very significant discounts if you apply as a 1L.
In a meeting today at my school they stressed the importance of making sure to disclose EVERYTHING even on your clinic/internship apps because of past issues with some students. FL is a pain in the ass.  Well, hopefully you are not here....Good luck OP.
