Studying for the LSAT / retake in DEC or not?
« on: October 05, 2004, 02:02:13 PM »
need serious advice, thanks to all in advance

First test june 03 148
UGPA 3.1
This time, lots of prep, 10 actual, 10 more, some of 10 next, LG bible, PR class, etc.  took prep tests 41, 42, 43 over the course of studies got 152,154,and 161 respectively and in that order.

On test day I was very nervous

LR nailed (miss 3 or 4 hopefully)
LR experimental
RC unconfident, uncertain (NGF threw me for a loop, 2 blind guesses on last passage) I usually miss 4-5 max, but may have missed more on this one.
LR weak, uncertain (blind guesses on 4 of last 5 questions)
LG avg. to good (got through 3 games completely, blind guessed B last 5.  maybe missed 2-3 total on completed games.)

I have good work experience, strong recs, and will put together a kickass statement, but will a 156 (gasp) overcome my previous low score or should I just retake in DEC?  also to consider, i've taken all of the recent tests, not sure what material i could go over...shooting for any DC area programs, ideally AU or Catholic

Thanx for the responses.  I've decided to start putting my applications together and study dilligently for the october exam as well.  I'm confident that I can improve my score - besides, worst case scenario is that I will cancel my score if i don't feel comfortable and wind up transferring from a 4th tier after a year.

Law School Applications / June 9th Lsat Score In - Advice wanted...
« on: June 30, 2003, 10:21:29 AM »
First time poster,  Just got my LSAT score back and I'm horribly disappointed.  I scored a 148, which is about 5-7 points below what I was averaging on my last 5 practice tests.  I'm not too keen on taking it again, but I'm confident I would score between a 150-155 were I to go ahead and take it.

Is it worth taking again?  I am currently a legislative assistant on capitol hill and am sure my personal statement and letter of rec's will be excellent.  I'm going to apply to alll DC area law schools - any hope of getting in with such a dismal score?  Thanks in advance.   [Roll Eyes]

GPA - 3.1
