I was accepted to Widener Harrisburg with a full scholarship and told them this week that I am going elsewhere.  Hopefully, they will make someone's day and give my scholarhship away.

Who else will be going to Pitt this fall?  I have finally made my decision and will be attending.  I am coming from Kentucky and will be going to the open house on April 8th.

I really want to limit my debt.  I live in Kentucky so I can go to UK for cheap.  I figure that as much as I would like to go to Pitt it doesn't make sense to pay the extra 15,000 per year to go to a similarly ranked school.  How did you find out how much the scholarship was for?  I couldn't seem to find the info anywhere.  THere is an old post on this board somewhere that says it is a full scholarship. Even if it is $10,000 I can add that to the $8,000 I have already been awarded.

Did anyone apply and if so have you heard anything?  The waiting is killing me.  Without this scholarship I don't think I can afford to go and I am beyond ready to decide where I will be attending school.

Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / Re: falsifying race

I was conflicted about this as well.  My mother is panamanian and my father American.  Most applications for anything say "white, non-hispanic" or hispanic.  I always check hispanic because the first is certainly not true.  Also, I identity with my hispanic side of the family more.  I don't think any of this is about edge or whatever.  In my mind I am answering the question as it is true for me.  In this world, however, very few people are "purely" anything. I someone comes from a black parent and a white parent (like my nephew) I think he can put whatever he wants as race/ethnicity.  Either white or black would be true.  Color of hair, skin, eyes, doesn't matter at all as far as I am concerned.

I applied to Harrisburg over Wilmington (even though I have family in DE) because of the difference in curriculum.  Harrisburg has a public policy lean.

When I did it online I didn't have to put in anything for savings, checking etc.  My income was about $33,000 with a 403(b) through work.
