Incoming 1Ls / Re: How many of you are over 30?

I'm 29 and for the most part I agree with you that I feel "too old for this" a lot when I am around people in their early 20's.  However, I have met many people that are younger then they seem and older then they seem.  One of my closest friends at work is 23 and I about dropped dead from shock when she told me her age.  I never would have guessed she was so young.  On the flip side, an ex-roomate of mine is 35 going on 12.  I am looking forward to getting to know such a diverse group of people.

Incoming 1Ls / Re: Dell Computers? Who knows about them?

I have a Toshiba and love it.  Their customer service is consistently awesome (never on hold, etc.) and the machine is great.  They have reasonably priced models too.

I personally prefer a full size keyboard.  My laptop is something like 6 pounds with the full keyboard and a 15.4 inch screen.  I also think Dell's customer service sucks bad.  When I sold my Dell laptop I was soooo happy to never have to call them again!

What do you have now?  I was pretty much sold on the Dell 600m, but want to get perspectives on other brands.

You have to maintain a 3.0 to hold on to it.  Look at the grade distributions on their site and you will see that a small percentage of students get a 3.0.  They grade on a harsh curve. I talked to the admissions guy about this and confirmed it.  I turned down the full-ride from Widener.

I just got a Toshiba Satellite and love it.  It has a 15.4" screen and a full size keyboard but it is so slim that it is light.  I replaced a Dell and would never buy from them again.  Even if you have a machine that works their customer service is the crappiest.

I applied to Access Group yesterday and got a rate of LIBOR + 2.55%.  Last time I checked my credit report I had a FICO of 750.

The ABA plan for my school does NOT cover contraceptives.  It is listed in the huge list of exclusions.

Pitt's admissions office has been nothing but fabulous to deal with.  I was even more impressed after talking with them in person at the open house.

Wow, thanx for the info. At UK you can make A+'s. Would this indicate a generous curve?

Most schools I have looked at, like UK, publish there curve information in their student handbook.  UK's curve is B- I think.  I found all information online.
