Ok, my apartment is on biscayne bay blvd and rent starts at 900 something a month. Each floor you go up, the rent is raised $100. I currently pay $1159 for a 1 bdroom on the 16th floor and they charge me $40 a month extra for a dog. You can find places in Brickell for less then $1200, however, 1) you must do it early because they are the first to go, and 2) rent from a person who owns a condo in a brickell high rise, like someone mentioned before, private landlords do not have set prices and will be more flexible. ALSO some places in Brickell have move-in specials that give you 1 month free. If the rent is 1200 a month and you get 1 month free, then 1200/12 is 100 and your rent would only be $1100. My building is amazing. Most of the internet prices are not as they seem; they might be lower. Call the places and ask what is available. Two bedrooms in Brickell go for $2,000 or so and if you get a roomate, your rent will be $1,000 a month. But it's getting late, you are competing for places with undergrad students, grad students, and med students. They best and cheapest places are the first to go.

I think you get more for your money in Brickell. I agree that all the places near campus are dumpy. Do the apartments that are renting in Kendall for $1000 have washer/dryer/dishwasher/pool/gym, etc?? Are they high rise buildings with security? The only reason I ask is because there are apartments that rent in Brickell with all these ammenities and more, for the same price. If the places in Kendell are the same price but without as many ammenities, then you would get more for your money in Brickell.

I bought an Averatec Tablet. I have to admit I never use the writing program but I do like how the screen flips and rotates, and I use the electronic mouse pen. The only downfall to this computer would have to be the short battery life (2 hours) but I can buy a longer one. Also, it did not come with a Microsoft Office program but I had one at home and just uploaded it so it wasn't a big deal. Apparently a lot of law students now get tablets, but I dont see myself writing out my notes that often in class on the program, i'd probably just type them. I don't know.

You are driving against the traffic. Shouldn't take you more then 20 minutes to get to school, it took me about 10-15 depending on the time of day and if there were any accidents on US-1. I think the only reason why it takes some time to get there (because in distance its very close) is because 1) people don't know how to drive and there are a lot of accidents 2) the speed limit is lower and 3) the timing of the traffic lights suck.

Actually, it does have a "padded back pannel" and it is designed specifically for women. Go to Price Grabber.com and it will give you links to other websites that have it in more colors. One website is selling it for $53 instead of $58.

This is from the store EMS - Eastern Mountain Sports. They have it in Michigan but I don't know if they have it all over the counrty. I like this bag a lot, I don't know if it actually has a "padded compartment" for my laptop but I have a really nice sleeve my tablet came with so i'm not worried about that. EMS bags are amazing - I have two other backpacks from them - one lasted me all through high school and the other through college. This bag in the link also comes in Pink and Black. There are tons more bags there too.

I'm stressed about the GMAT. I haven't had a math class since high school algebra. I bought the Princeton Review GMAT study book and have been looking it over. You must complete it all on computer, with NO calculator and NO scratch papar. How the heck am I supposed to figure all the algebra and geometry out in my head?? I'm just really not a math person.

Has anyone found an apartment yet?

for the Nellie May private loan, they want 5% at disbursement and 5% more at the end or something. I know it's less if I get a co-signer, but does anyone know exactly how much less? Are you guys using this loan service or another private lender?
