I am not as anxious to start school and studying but i am really excited to move to miami! I am leaving in a month and I cant wait to get settled into my new apartment and meet all the new people and learn my way around. I've never lived outside of michigan or away from my family, so its really new and exciting for me.

Although I never saw myself going there it seems to make more sense as it will allow me to recieve an education closer to where I would like to practice. I hope thats not the only reason you chose not to go to miami...I understand your situation and I wish you luck, but to everyone else don't be discouraged! There are tons of places to live and you will find something! 23

At UM. and NO he is not the reason I chose to go to this school...though being with him is definately a perk! Everytime I go out in Miami for dinner I always want to wear a skirt and tank top but the restaurants crank up the AC and I freeze. I wonder how cold the classrooms will be. Better cold then hot though, I cant think straight if i'm shfitzing (sweating). 24

my boyfriend is a 1L and he wears his board shorts and a tshirt to class. he said some people really dress up but most people are just casual. I think i'll start off the year trying to look cute, but by midsemester i'll show up to class in sweat pants. Cute ones of course.

Ok - remember that apartment guide I told ya'll I picked up from CVS? Here are some names of properties, prices, and phone numbers. Remember to call ASAP to find out what is still available, and these prices may be lower/higher then what is listed. Remember to mapquest them because I do not know how close they are all to campus. The address for UM Law is 1311 Miller Rd, Coral Gables, FL 33146. Good luck to everyone!

I was going to live here myself they have everything and they allow pets. This was one of the places that said to call only a few days/months in advance. Park Place By the Bay 915 Northwest 1st Ave Miami, FL 33136 (305) 683 - 7302 Looks nice, 1bdrm from $885 this is also in Brickell its a high rise with pool, fitness center, etc. The Towers At Park West 800 North Miami Ave Miami, fl 33136 1bdrm from $880 (305) 234-2517 Another nice high rise with pool, etc. Pets welcome and has tennis and b-ball courts. Also, Linzy and others: good luck getting concessions from anywhere in Brickell. And anything cheap there is for a very good reason. That land is way too expensive for anybody to rent units out there for anything reasonable.
Quote What does that mean? I know the area in Brickell well. My building is one of the nicest ones. Dont get angry and start putting down other people just because you havent found anything. You are looking late, and it makes sense the nicest and cheapest ones rent first. And by the way Casino asked about the $900 ones, Most are studios. And the reason why these apartments are not so outrageous is because I think they are rent controlled, and they dont raise the rent each year. But the building was completed in 2002 so it's still very new, i don't know. |
