Law School Applications / Re: my addendum
« on: October 13, 2004, 02:17:49 AM »
Thanks, sorry, but i'm used to being really blunt about my situation ( i mean, after all, everyone is always wondering where I run off to) and dealing with immature people. You can only imagine what first dates are like for me....c'mon, *&^% is NOT sexy. OK, so back to my question tho - how do i write it without seeming like it will hold me back, but still get the message across that it is serious? My first draft sounded too much like a sob story, and my next draft sounded like it wasnt even a big deal, which it is.

thats why i want to include an addendum.....it was really hard...lets just say immodium is my best friend.... I really think that my condition effected my score, so i took it twice...nerves cause my stomach to flare up and make it worse, so i took the lsat in june and again in oct....I did so much better the second time bc i knew what to expect.
I talked to adcoms at the law fair a couple weeks ago, all said to include an addendum..

Law School Applications / my addendum
« on: October 13, 2004, 01:44:38 AM »
I am writing an addendum to send to all the schools I am applying to. I am going to describe my medical condition but I dont want the schools to think that it will interfere with my ability to attend law school. The truth is, I suffer from a Spastic Colon, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Lactose Intollerancy. Thus, my body rejects everything i consume which you can imagine is embarrassing and inconvienient. How do I explain that I poop a lot? We live in a society where everyone goes to the bathroom, yet not many people talk about it. Guys think girls don't poop. But seriously, this is a major medical issue and I want it to seem like I am a better person for overcoming it and living with it while achieving so much, but I fear it will work against me.

Haha Jenni someone responded to you! I told you i'd get you addicted to this message board....

SO people, how bout another important question.....Do profs usually send you a copy of the rec letter so that you can read it?? Will LSDAS post it to read? Or do we just have to trust them to write good stuff??
