Unfortunately, LSD isn't the best board for this type of question.

There are some especially toolish posts on this thread.  I've never seen anything like it on LSD.

Not American.  A tossup between GMU and W&L, but W&L has the edge.

I don't even like Georgetown -- I've had a lot of exposure to it through friends and living in DC for two years -- but I still think it's the way to go, certainly in this case.

I still haven't received anything (defer to July or otherwise).

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Boalt...

I withdrew from Boalt today, so all in-staters are one person closer to getting a spot.

Sorry I took so long -- I just had a really hard time making up my mind.  Chose UVA.

Given the fact that there's yet another reply form due by July 1 with no tentative yes option, I think a lot of spots are going to open up.

This can't be a serious post.

Choosing the Right Law School / Boalt matching money
« on: May 08, 2005, 01:08:02 PM »
Has anyone heard from Boalt about their matching money?  I submitted the information in early April and still have not heard back.  I thought this was automatic -- and even if it isn't, why are they so slow?

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: UVA question

Thanks, Bruin04.

I was thinking more along the lines of whether people are friends across racial lines. I think I'm going to drive down there again to look at the Ivy garden apartments and some other apartments. I'll take the time to walk around and think about whether I should have really sent my deposit to UVA. I guess I'm just nervous that people "keep to their own".

I wasn't going to pursue my waitlists/holds, but I am getting kind of nervous about living in Virginia. So, I might harass my city schools.

Unfortunately, people generally "keep to their own" just about everywhere, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other progressive places.  It's what you make of it.  There's nothing to stop anyone at UVA or any other place (with the possible exception of certain places in the Deep South) from making friends across racial lines.
