I wonder when they'll offer to fly me out.  Anyone have any ideas on that?

What does a professor make at a top 5 school?

I'm a girl (Laura) but that's okay.

I forgot to mention that I also called Cornell and they mailed me not only a fee waiver but a pre-written suicide note "just in case you get in".  Isn't that thoughtful?

What if you saved up a million bucks?  You don't have kids so they can't inherit it.  Then you die.  What's the point of all the saving and scrimping?  Just because spending makes you feel anxious?

Why would I be kidding?

I don't need some sort of hand-made italian suit for $3000.

If I can get a decent suit for $100, so much the better.

If I can get a decent suit for $15, then I have saved that much more.

Really, the thrift store suits look rather nice. I'd like to buy one, and I may actually splurge on one, as I don't have a full suit as of right now.

I respect--although simultaneously cringe at--your frugality, but this suit proposition is ridiculous.  First of all, since when can you get a suit at a thrift store for $15?  My town's thrift stores charges that much for a women's blouse.

There is no way you will wear a thrift store suit after law school. Mark my words.  If I offered to bet you $20 that you would not wear a thrift store suit, would you accept?  And if you lost the bet, from which part of your budget would you deduct the $20?

I got the email 3 times so far.  They definitely have my application!  I think maybe they just send it to the whole email list whenever they get a new batch processed.

I called Yale and told them about my #s (3.9 and 178).  They put me through to the dean who FedExed my waiver.  You should definitely call.

I sing Please Mr. Postman (thought you guys would deduce that from the thread title, but I guess I just listen to decidedly un-cool music).

Everyone should sing this song while checking the mail, I decree it.

-------------------

Oh yes, wait a minute Mister Postman
(Wait)
Wait Mister Postman

Please Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time
(Oh yeah)
For me to hear from that boy of mine

There must be some word today
From my boyfriend so far away
Pleas Mister Postman, look and see
If there's a letter, a letter for me

I've been standin' here waitin' Mister Postman
So patiently
For just a card, or just a letter
Sayin' he's returnin' home to me

(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time
(Oh yeah)
For me to hear from that boy of mine

So many days you passed me by
See the tears standin' in my eyes
You didn't stop to make me feel better
By leavin' me a card or a letter

(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time

(Why don't you check it and see one more time for me, you gotta)
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see

(C'mon deliver the letter, the sooner the better)
Mister Postman

Does anyone else have a song they sing on the way to the mailbox each day?

I believe in incest, provided you don't have kids.

Also, I believe in the consumption of pork, provided it is cooked under proper conditions.
