received today, dated april 28th. will stay on it, i'm still hoping to get in.

that's a bummer that you guys can't make it! i'll be there, and i'll try to report back what it was like.

why aren't you going to the admitted students day on the 6th? i'm pretty sure you could visit a class then...

i received the reserve letter, as well. it says they'll be getting in touch with people on the reserve list by mid to late may.

i went to decision last week and on saturday i received a letter saying that my application has been placed on reserve. it's not a waitlist...the way they word it makes it sound like they are waiting to see who places a seat deposit before they make any more offers of admission. no one is ranked on the reserve list, and there is a little postcard you have to send back it you want to continue to be considered. i guess the good news is that i wasn't rejected, but i would absolutely love to go to cornell, so i'm sad that the wait will continue. it says if they decide further offers are appropriate, they'll let us know in mid to late may, and at that point they'll also decide who will be placed on the official wait list. hope this helped, good luck to all who are still waiting!

i'm still waiting as well.

i'm at decision as well. i'd almost rather get the letter and be surprised than know it's coming and not know what it says. the wait is killing me!

i'll be there, too! i bought my ticket yesterday, and i'm really excited. i've never been to new york before, any suggestions on things to do/see while i'm there?

Incoming 1Ls / Re: What kind of laptop do you have?

i have a toshiba and have had nothing but problems with it. it's only 6 months old. it overheats and shuts down frequently when i'm working and as a result, i've lost documents which cannot be recovered. this would be a big problem if you were in class taking notes. the mouse works when it feels like it. and a lot of times it refuses to recognize that it's plugged into the wall and runs off the battery instead. save yourself the time and trouble...don't buy a toshiba. the only good thing i can say is that at least they'll take it back and try to fix it, and if they can't they'll replace it.
