Choosing the Right Law School / Re: OSU Moritz a black hole?

I have a #2, I just hate wasting the $150 to reserve a seat I might not want.

I had the same reaction with my application to Cleveland-Marshall. They offered 4k/yr and my gpa was in their top half, but my lsat was off of their charts. Thought I'd get at least 3/4 tuition. I plan on asking for more if I decide to attend.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's taking them so long either. My numbers were competitive and they've had it "in committee" for a month now. I'm not sure what they're waiting for, but it should only take about 10 minutes to go through the average application. How you can stretch that out to 30+ days, even with multiple people reading it, is beyond me.

Choosing the Right Law School / OSU Moritz a black hole?

I've sent 2 e-mails and left 2 messages on voicemail there and never hear back from these people. It's like a communications black hole, things go in, and never come out. Anyone else having trouble getting ahold of anyone there? I'm just trying to see what's going on with my app, as they've had it for over a month with no word and seat deposits are due everywhere.

All economics arguements aside, it's pretty simple if you ask me: Service jobs. Do a service that can't be replicated cheaply in another country and you're fine. Do you think police officers worry about oursourcing? Doctors? Cooks? There are a ton of jobs out there, and it only seems bleak to those in the fields getting diced up.

Sounds like office space.

Oh, and to answer the question above: You can't farm out legal work to India.

Generalizations are 180.

Don't forget that the SAT is comparing you to all the other idiots going to joe shmoe college, while the LSAT would (you would think) be comparing you to other successful college students.

My mom's fiancee is an orthopedic surgeon. He pulls close to 500K/yr, but I still wouldn't want to go to med school, although I understand where you're coming from.
For instance, during the summer I caddy at a local course which happens to be in the top 50 in the country, and I make $100+ cash for 18 holes, which works out to roughly $20/hr. Then during classes, I have to take a regular minimum wage job, and it totally makes you think you're being underpaid and that it's not worth putting in a lot of effort.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Vandy or OSU?

I'd go to OSU. $60,000 is a lot of money to piss away on the assumption that you'll be able to make that money up with a jd from vanderbilt. If you said OSU or UM, or OSU or Harvard, then it's an easy choice. But just to go up roughly 20 ranking spots isn't worth it in my opinion. And Tennessee, are you kidding me? That pretty much means you'll have to completely rely on their national rep unless you want to live in Tennessee. I'd totally take OSU over Vandy and never look back.
