Studying for the LSAT / You know what sucks about this post mortem?
« on: February 04, 2006, 05:57:50 PM »
None of us will ever be able to say, "I told you so!".  Actually, what really sucks is we'll never really know for sure what the right answers were.  We can all sit here and guess and hope the majority consensus comes up with a reasonable degree of accuracy, but we'll never really know for sure.

The floors game is the one that ate most of my time.  That bastard of a game pissed me off.

Let's settle this Jellyfish question once and for all-

Stimulus:  All 'something' are located in the west end of the tank.  All jellyfish are 'something.'  Therefore, there are no jellyfish in the east side of the tank.

Answer:  All gems are mined in T**** mine, in the north.  All rubies are gems.  Therefore, no rubies are mined in Mc*** mine, in the south.

Opinions?

I don't remember the answer, but you're leaving out an important part of the stimulus:

Therefore, there are PROBABLY no jellyfish in the east side of the tank.
I think the answer did have a probably in it, but I could be wrong.  I remember thinking about it for a bit, and thinking that was the best one.  Then again, I suck with parallel questions, so I could very easily be wrong.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Did you like your test center?
« on: February 04, 2006, 04:56:18 PM »
My test center was great.  It was at my university, so I knew what to expect.  The desks were a little smaller than I would have liked, but we were allowed to use the desk next to us for our timer, extra pencils, etc.

The second I saw birds in game two i got pissed and thought of jays, shrikes and wrens...........

 >:(

LOL, Someone on this board actually said a couple days ago that's the one thing they did NOT want to see on the LSAT was jays, shrikes, and wrens.  As soon as I saw that game, I thought of that post.

But he also said the practice was draconian.  He was talking about the populace's response when he said "unpopular", but he wouldn't have used the word draconian if he didn't think it was an appropriate word.
