General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Simple tip for future 1Ls
« on: January 05, 2006, 08:24:33 PM »
For those of you who are interested. I was determined to not carry a crap-load of books every day to class along with a 6 lbs computer, so i decided to buy used books, and then i took them to Fed-Ex Kinkos and had them unbound (they cut the spine off). It cost me about 2 dollars per book, and they did it all in a matter of hours. I did this for my casebooks as well as my E&E supplements. It was the best move i made all semester. Every week, i took only the section that i needed for the week for each class. I had no problems with studying or losing pages or anything like that.

just FYI, hope it's helpful

Hey ppl. I'm in San Fran. right now, and no disrespect to anyone from here, but there are parts of this city that should just be destroyed. The Tenderloin is disgusting, truly disgusting. Market street is disgusting. Golden Gate Park is boring and disgusting. And Haight Ashbury is not disgusting, but the people there certainly are.

PPL, i'm sorry for ragging on the city. I told some people how I felt and they said that i was just in the wrong areas. So tomorrow, i'llbe going to Russian Hill, the Marina, and the Castro. Hopefully i will have nicer things to say tomorrow about the great city of Fan Srancisco.

I'm over here in San Francisco, jus chillin. But i'm not staying here, just visiting. I'll be in Santa Clara. I got a room to live in in a cool house, with cool roomies (and a dog that i hope knows how to catch a frisbee). I have yet to see my schools campus, even though i have passed right in front of it no less than three times on the bus, and actually got off the train directly across the streeet. Today, i will finally walk onto the campus for the first time. I'm getting the tingly feeling alll along my arms. woooo... Any who, who else has finally made it to their school city. I know that ScurvyWench is in Houston (where my plane stopped off for an hour on the way to San Jose), so what about the rest of y'all....

OK, so here's the deal. My school sent me the info about orient., but did not mention what type of attire students should be sporting. Should I be cautious and do the suit thing, which will be difficult because i only have one suit, lol, or should i do the casual thing?

What has y'all schools told y'all to wear? Maybe that will give me a clue.

Hey ppl. I'm going to California with an aching in my heart. Orientation is the 8th of August, and i was planning on living in the law school housing on campus. I just got a message from my school saying that i am on a waitlist and am number 12. That was a big shock to me. Now it looks like i am gonna have to get off campus housing. My question is, wtf am I supposed to do from a couple thousand miles away. I don't want to choose housing without actually seeing the places, and the stupid pictures that they have online on sublet.com or craigslist never give you a good idea of what the place is really like (well, i assume). Should i leave my job early and go and look for housing and then just stay there. Early would be July 22 or so.

only real advice plz, and i know someone will say some stupid *&^% like "you act like you've never looked for an apartment before". Well I haven't ever looked for an apartment. SO there.

Has anyone been waiting a long time for a Temple letter to arrive. I called a couple of weeks ago, and they said that they had just mailed the decision, but there's nothing here yet. It's not like i live clear across the country, i'm in NYC. I'm gonna call them,i guess it got lost.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Sun and Fun...Santa Clara 2008
« on: May 05, 2005, 10:09:09 PM »
This will (no longer) be the place where we share information about the school, talk about our plans for the summer, and generally become friends and foes before we even get to orientation. When we finish with this board, we will not be able to pick each other out in a crowd just by the clothes we're wearing and the style of our hair!  :(.

Ok, so let's forget it. Refrain from talking about anything you want.

Wait List / Wait Listed @ Rutgers-Newark

Well, i guess they all can't be good news, eh... This makes it a little easier, as it looks as if all of my choices will be far away from home. The only problem is that If they take a really long time, i might be settling into Santa Clara already.

SO HURRY UP RUTY!
