Law School Discussion

I'm a huge football fan.  I would think that trojan girl would have to at least know a little about it since she goes to the school with the top ranked football team.

too soon to tell maybe.
usc is good and also last year; georgia is lookin tough though; oklahoma's got some arm...and i like a good offense. underrated to the d. usually, but i like them.

but watchout for the golden bears, ms. trojan...california might surprise even the trojans...

Thanks for the warm welcome bluewarrior. I will certainly keep my mind open, after all, i'm still not even in law school yet. Got a ways to go. As for the nightlife in NYC, There is pretty much anything you want. I myself really prefer more quiet laid back places to chill and talk with friends with a nice big cup 'o tea in my hands, but some of my friends sometimes drag me out dancing and drinking. The best places to get down and funky...i don't know, try TONY. If you want some more relaxed places, i can definitely recommend some places.

I can see myself practicing pretty much anywahere where i would have a decent standard of living. I was born in NYC, and i would miss the whole hustle/bustle of the greatest city in the world (don't be hatin' ), but i know that even if i were to make good money here, my cost of living would be outrageous. I also want to raise my kids in an area that is a little more peaceful. Of course, i am just talking right now, who knows where i might want to be in a couple of years...I do know that i will most likely practice and live in the general area that i went to law school. I am very much interested in LA (not in Cali, the state LA).

Do i like what with the lights on or off... Do you mean?!!! Oh my!

hey r.d.  right now it's hit the books...steppin out has to wait one mon...but i do like sittin in brooklyn...the lower east side or l.e.s. has some new spots for jazz...i found a place called "kush" i think its on orchard or ludlow off of houston that is good early in the evening and then it gets too crazy...but if you like tea...they got it.

remember if you go to la. you need a ride.

hmmm...What areas of law are you ppl planning on choosing. Myself, i would really be interested in Administrative Law dealing with Business and/or Tax Law.

i'm new to this board too...but welcome, man.
i'm at (new york law school) down on worth st. goin for J.D. and M.B.A. i go to CUNY in queens from time to time.

some friends of mine know exactly what they want to focus in on and i pretty much am zeroing in on what i want...BUT it's absolutly true...feel out all lectures...check out seminars outside of class...take what you want and leave what you want...soak it all in though...but if you know already...that's cool...go with the flow.
a law-prof. once told me...

"once you know what and who you are...the rest is just work"

as for kobe, peterson, levy...it's "court tv stuff"...that gets to me sometimes...because of the repetitive media...i can take it or leave it..."but is fun to confab upon"

what are your thoughts about nyc's night life?
and atmosphere these days?

i wish kerry and bush would leave town quickly...they are messing up the traffic flow...they both belong in fl.and gulf coast states...or near the pa. rivers. where people are hurting...

just got back from study group...just waiting to watch some football and "court tv"  and "fox" just kills me...it's either peterson's who dun it saga or kobe's story...the media just doesn't give it a rest...
that's all i'm talkin about.

what ever happend to that "sandra levy girl mystery"...any thoughts on why that story got buried??

i'm a student at new york law school working for my J.D. and also an M.B.A...i know there's been a lotta discssn. re. "good" law schools throughout this board and that's cool...good to share info.

i'm now going full time at nyls...i gotta say it must be tough...at least night life in some of the other areas i've been reading about on these threads...ohio. s.cali.

libraries are the key to me...and a good night lif1e...but the night life is on hold for a while. smackin the books for now and  a while.

so, getting back to libraries... while harvard, yale, howard may be tops sometimes it's good to have access to nearby courthouses...and other law school facilities...CUNY, COLUMBIA, and NYU....plus, the almighty "hands on experience"...so i say anyone thinking about going to law school...think about nyc...

anyway i've read through 1-68 of this dic board and ja, some words are insightful and prime point but man, some are flat wack...
keep up the good topics cuz there are many as i've seen...and as you get me...i'll get you..
