Don't be a tool. You're not going to gain anything by skimming outlines and supplements during the summer except anxiety.

Someone sounds inadequate.

Acceptances / Re: UC Hastings Vs. San Diego

Go with Hastings. At least biglaw in SD knows and respects the rep more than USD. If you were going to be a gunner at USD, and knew you were going to be law review top 5%, then go that route...but if you are an avg student...go Hastings...more options and rep.

You should see the movie "In Smog and Thunder, the Great War of the Californias". Its a spook documentary (also a book) of a made up civil war between norcal and socal that will help highlight the very different cultures, politics, and values of the north and south. Too many non-Californians believe that everyone from CA is the same...but hell will freeze over before I am identified with those Northerners. The southland will rise again!

Cal and SC are perfect examples of the split culture of the two. You have a tough choice to make...go visit and stop listenning to us.

Ronin - I've got your back (undergrads). Free MMA practice.

Aer you getting less $$$ than me ($3K/year)?

Thats messed up man. You should take your money and fedex it to the school with a note, "excuse me W&L...you forgot your change".

styvux - funny, are you goint to W&L?

ronin, why have you chosen woods creek??? is it just for the closeness to school?

I spoke with my high school buddy who was an RA in woods creek (undergrad c/o 2004), and he said it was alright. This other dude i've been speaking to who is a 1L said it was alright as well.

BUT, I figure the communal midtime college style living will make me feel more comfortable and nostalgic since i'm moving there from LA, and i'm sure i will get homesick for college friends etc. And i realize the whole building will be a pressure cooker with kids studying all the time, noise, and other sh*t not great for a 1L...but i'm that odd kid who does much better under extreme pressure as opposed to being in some cabin in the outskirts of lex alone.

is anyone considering the wood creek apartments?

I'm planning on living in wood's creek. I just can't get over the fact that I can roll out of bed at 8:55 and get to my 9am class. Sweet.

I plan on throwing a lot of keggers and getting into fights with undergrad crashers, so I expect all of you to come and support.

If it were up to me, I would have to choose Cal cause i'm a numbers whore...but sc has a waaaaaaaay better quality of life. If its biglaw you are thinking about...both will get you a great job here. My buddy who went to Cal works at mofo, and my buddy who went to sc works at omelveny....so its not a big disparity.

Cal has ugly people, many of whom are too full of themselves...but thats just the 50 odd people i know there. I would hate to live there with them spouting off their higher than thou sh*t. SC people tend to be more laid back, and you will find a lot better looking girls, but many are superficial. Sc kids tend to be more moderate in politics and life too. And this is a ucla grad talking...so you know i'm not b*llsh*ttin you about sc.

In two words of superficial rep: Cal = pseudo intellectuals : SC = practical moneymakers
