Studying for the LSAT / Logic Games/Logical Reasoning Bible
« on: September 16, 2004, 01:14:10 PM »
Will buying and using the LGB and LRB while taking the Princeton Review course be counterproductive? I'm not sure of the approaches each course takes.  Any feedback is helpful.

Studying for the LSAT / Help with LSAT studying
« on: September 16, 2004, 12:47:13 PM »
I'm beginning an LSAT review course next Saturday (Princeton Review), and I've done very little studying so far.  My thinking is that the class will help me to understand the way the test should be taken, and the way the questions should be understood, and thus, I'm waiting until I learn this to do any practicing.  Of course, once I start the course, I'll get into a regular routine, but this is what I've been doing up to now.  Anyone agree/disagree with my methods?

Law School Admissions / Law School App/State Bar Question
« on: September 16, 2004, 05:03:23 AM »
I wonder if people can give me feedback as to whether the following incident will hinder my ability to get into law school and/or be admitted to any State Bar:

As an employee of the Freedom of Information Unit in a local District Attorney's Office, I was asked to resign because I had made Freedom of Information requests to other state government agencies using the office resources (phone and fax machine).  The information I sought was public, and no criminal action was (nor could it have been) taken.

After seeing some people here with criminal records, I'm inclined to think that as long as Im honest, it won't be a problem, as this is the only blemish on my record (except for 3-4 tickets for moving violations and an equal number of at-fault car accidents, but I don't think those matter.

Will my "Freedom of Information problem" hinder my ability to get into law school and/or be admitted to any State Bar?

Any feedback is welcome.

Law School Admissions / Whats a good timeline to get applications out
« on: September 15, 2004, 04:39:00 AM »
I'm applying for Fall, 2005.  When should I aim to have the apps done and ready to send?  My recommendations will be going to LSDAS within 3 weeks, and the applications are pretty much done...just need to be mailed (or transmitted...not sure which to do). I've worked very little on my pers. statement, but I think I should wait until the LSAT is done (I'm taking the December exam).  Any ideas or guidance?

Law School Admissions / Re: Format for addendums?
« on: September 11, 2004, 07:06:21 PM »
I put my name, SS#, and LSDAS Acct # at the top of the page, and I wrote "Addendum to Application Question # X".  That's just my style; I'm sure everyone does it differently.

Law School Admissions / Massachusetts School of Law
« on: September 07, 2004, 04:30:52 PM »
Can anyone give me any feedback on the Massachusetts School of Law? I know they're not ABA accredited, and they don't require the LSAT, but does anyone know anything more about the quality of the education, the faculty, the bar pass rate, anything?

Thanks for your help.

Law School Admissions / What are my chances?
« on: September 07, 2004, 03:24:37 PM »
I know this is hard to answer, but I have a 2.56 GPA, an ABAb  approved paralegal certificate (grad. with honors),have been out of college 5 years, and have 3 1/2 yrs legal experience as a paralegal.  I'm thinking 146-155 is a good guess for my LSAT (taking in December).  Will I get in ANYWHERE?? I'm applying to the less-prestigious NY schools, plus Nova and Barry in FL, and Appalachian and Cooley?

Anyone have any guesses if/where I'll get in?
