Melinda, I think we're on the same wait list at USC and doing the same thing with Hastings  :)
I'm looking on Craigs list to see if I can find some place to stay for that time because I called some temp places and they were all full... and if the ones you called were full too, then I would imagine they all probably are...
There was one posting about a place in Berkely from the 20-Sept. 4 to catsit, for free rent, but I don't know if I want to make that commute every day (its about 30 min right?) plus the timing doesn't quite match up...
Those are pretty much all the places I'm thinking of looking... Nob Hill seems pretty expensive so unless I can find someone to share a 2 bedroom, I may have to look elsewhere... I was looking in Richmond because rents seem to be slightly more affordable, but I don't know how far away it is, like I said...
Let me know how your search goes and if you find anything good  :)

Yea, I'm going to keep pushing for USC until the end... well, until Aug 15, I can't wait until the 22nd anymore because I have to make plans for Hastings... I'll just be so glad when this is over and I don't have to keep obsessing about this any more... I figure I will be happy either way, just happier at USC  :)

any info about looking for apts. is good! i can't come in until right before classes start, because at this point its too expensive to fly from ny just to look at places when i'm moving in a month anyway... so if anyone knows any place i should be looking (for apts. or roommates) i would so appreciate the advice!!!!!!! from what i've read online, i'm thinking nob hill/sunset area? richmond sounds nice but i don't know how far it is, it looks far on the map, but San Francisco isn't that big, so it can't be too far...
Advice pleae  :)
i think i'm going to find a temp place to stay from mid-aug to sept. 1 and try to move into a place sept. 1... hopefully that will give me a little time to look, although i'm sure i'll be busy with that whole law school thing  :)

has anyone else found that they have sort of stopped responding to email... at the begining of the summer when i emailed continued interest, i always got a response back... the last three emails i've sent, all of which asked specific questions, got no answer... do you think its because they are full and don't care about waitlisters any more, or are they just tired of hearing from me about how much i want to go?

Thanks  :)
Hastings was a top choice for me from the begining, and I had just about given up hope when they called...And at least it was in time for to me pack up and move too... I was afraid it was going to be like Aug 13 or something... And the director of enrollment was super nice to me on the phone!! I have a really good feeling about this  :)

I was going to be going to Fordham in NY, easier because I am from NY but I'm ready for some Cali weather  :)

Just got in to Hastings off the waiting list  :)
People who are going to Hastings... where are you living??? I want to find an apartment in Nob Hill probably, but around other Hastings students... I would ideally like to find another Hastings student as a roommate, but the lady in the admissions office said their list of people who were looking for roommates was "closed"
I'm awaiting my admitted students letter in the mail to get access to the Hastings website and get financial info and stuff... so excited though to finally have an answer!!!

Got in off the Hastings waitlist yesterday!!!!!!!!! She said she had one more person to call when I talked to her!!!!!!!!!!! Also, she said there may still be some grant $$ available because a lot of people who have withdrawn had grants... so now I am looking for a place to live in San Fran!!!! I am still hoping to hear from USC, but at least now I have a good alternative if I don't end up there...
People who are looking for apartments, where are you looking?  I would like to find a roommate to share a 2 bedroom but the woman at Hastings told me they had a list of people looking but its closed now...

just got another one of those continued interest emails... anyone else get it? think its a good sign or a bad sign?  those who are still on the wait list... how long are you guys planning on waiting?

people who aren't going but got in off the wait list--- did you tell them you aren't going/when did you tell them?

i told USC I would accept an offer for them up until the day classes start--- do you think that if they were going to offer me a place, they would wait until then, because they know i will accept a position if the class is not full when classes start?

people who are still on the wait list letter... what is your cutoff date for accepting?
