Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Southwestern Waitlist
« on: April 27, 2005, 02:34:38 PM »
I found out about my waitlist status last night online, and I have yet to get the letter in the mail.  Does anyone know what the actual letter says?  Does it say when they'll make the decision to take people off the list, does it also indicate the likelihood of being accepted off the waitlist?  Has anyone actually tried calling and asking someone there that question?

I'm thinking about just committing to Cal Western since I know I can't bank on the waitlist at Southwestern.  Then again, I can't bank on the possibility of transferring from Cal Western either.  To make matters worse, should I go to Cal Western, I'll be living with a group of friends, and they're looking for the 4 bedroom house as I write.  Very confused.

Is the only difference between Planet Law School I and II is that part II is an updated version?

Law School Admissions / How is the competition in a tier 4 school?

Is it easier compared to the higher tiers?  Or does it not make any difference due to tier 4 specific factors (forced curve, etc etc).

Law School Admissions / Retaking the LSAT more than once.

Is it taboo to retake the LSAT more than once (maybe even more than twice) just to bring up the average?  Anybody ever done this?

Law School Admissions / Deferring an admit for two years possible?

Anybody know of anybody who did this?

Law School Admissions / Caneling the LSAT before the test date
« on: October 30, 2004, 09:14:32 PM »
I took the Oct 04 LSAT and am not happy with my score, I'm currently signed up for the Dec 04 LSAT which I intend to cancel on Monday.  I'm going to retake the LSAT a few years down the road.  Would this hurt me in the admissions process later on?  In other words, would it look bad?  Will they even see that I canceled my Dec test?

Law School Admissions / An LSAT score expires in how long?
« on: October 30, 2004, 08:36:25 PM »
Is it three years?  Meaning If i took Oct 2004, I get a clean slate Oct 2007?

can I?

Much?  Little?  Not at all?  Will having a masters in a subject (with great gpa) sorta make up for my less than stellar UG GPA?

The reason I ask is because I'm considering on going to grad school, which would buy me some time to study and retake the LSAT and do other cool stuff.  Otherwise, I might just end up at a tier 3/4.  What do you think?

Law School Admissions / Retaking in December. Do I still apply ASAP?
« on: October 22, 2004, 11:57:33 PM »
Just got my test results which I am not happy with.  Should I still apply before November like I initially planned even though I plan to retake the test in December?  Will it hurt my chances?  Will the schools which I'm applying to wait out till January when the new scores come out before they review my application?  I know I can score higher, I really needed to pee from sections 2-3 in October.

My Oct 04: 154
