Hey, NoUsername,  how do you feel about people from ethnic minorities where tattoos are a longstanding part of the culture?

Like the Maori or something?

If you're a true believe, you're better off concentrating.  You'll be able to show employers in that field that you have an advanced understanding of the subject, and a dedication to the field.

If you're not positive, then take the "bar classes" and maybe a few extras in one or two fields you think you're interested in.

Personally, I'm splitting the difference, taking a decent course load in trust/estate/property type classes, and then a generous number of generic classes.

Maybe it proves to all those kids who from the day they started at their prep school were told they would be professionals that the world cant be viewed through a static value paradigm set up to reward a chosen few that look the part.
my .02

Or it just proves to them that if you're undeniably good at something, you can get away with a lot of stuff that the average person can't.  It's good to be good.

BarBri will give you everything you need.
Sell what you want, and keep the ones that you think look pretty to put on your bookshelf to impress clients and/or friends with your learnedness.

Falling on the sword and pleading mea culpa is always better than playing the blame game.

Messing up, learning from your mistake, and growing is always a good story.

Job Search / Re: Recruiting season

Hey everyone, I called a small firm that I was interested in today to inquire about working there for my 2L summer and was told that they have already hired their summers for next year. I was under the impression that firms did not start recruiting until later in the summer/fall. Hmmmm.

Small firms do whatever they want.  NALP firms are really the only ones on a set track.  And then a lot of firms follow that track because it makes sense.

There are plenty of people who do law school twice.

I know a few people who curved out of their first law school, took a while off, and came back.  You seem to have really done well for yourself since leaving law school the first time.

You'll certainly have a lot of explaining to do, but you should be able to get a second shot.

Limos are TTT.  I only drive around in a learjet.  Just take the wings off and that things like a jet car.  Exactly like a jet car in fact.
