Choosing the Right Law School / University of Cincinnati?
« on: April 14, 2008, 09:52:18 AM »
People don't really talk about Cincy on these boards.  I was wondering if anyone knows much/anything about the school.  I've read that it was T1 until 2002, and is now at 52 in the US News rankings.  Is the school likely to keep going down, or move back up?

I want to work in central Ohio, so OSU is probably the obvious choice, as the two schools are almost equal in terms of admission.  But would a UC degree travel back to Columbus and/or the surrounding area?

What does that even mean? And I guess no one else has any experience that is similar?

Keep wiping your poss.

And no one is responding because you are not entitled to be admitted at any school, as you seem to think.  They have the right to make whatever decision they want, whenever they want.  January is pretty late to apply, so you should be more surprised that all the other schools got back so quickly rather than mad that SMU hasn't.

Keep wiping it.  ;D

Notre Dame for sure, especially if you want to be a professor.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: UVA vs. UGA - seriously!

Go to UGA!!!

Why go into Big Law for a few years (which you don't, it seems, want to do) just to pay off UVA debt and then take a small firm job in Georgia that you could have gotten to begin with coming from UGA?

Be a Bulldog.

CA is so insular and there's such an attitude of "why would you ever live anywhere else" that it's nice to enjoy other parts of the country.

Yeah, this bugs me sometimes.

But that's probably because I came back sooner than I meant to  :P

Yeah, but its not like the OP is choosing between Davis and NYC, or between Pasadena and Chicago. Its between San Francisco and Columbus, OH. San Fran is a T6 City nationally. Columbus isn't even a T14 city in the midwest.

In fairness, I was thinking more along the lines of Ohio State Buckeyes versus the UC Hastings doesn't have a mascot (comparing the schools, not the cities).

Wow, I'm not very pleased right now.  I just spent like 10 minutes posting about Columbus and the site screwed up and lost/didn't post my message.  Anyways, PM me with any questions you have about Columbus or OSU...I am an UG Buckeye, and I think people are being unnecessarily harsh on C-bus.

if it required knowing the plot of debbie does dallas, i did not. if it required a general knowledge of the different meanings of doing something, i did.

Why are UofC students always so insistent on proving their dullness?

Haha...The avatar seems to have been changed to a picture of a beer pong game in response to your post.

All the schools that you have listed are TTT's.  Withdraw all app's, retake the LSAT and try again next year.

I mean, I'm all for comedy, but that wasn't even remotely funny.  Wasn't mean or anything, but your sense of humor is just awful.

As for the question at hand, just ride that HLS waitlist.  And if it comes down to Penn or Berkely by the end of the summer, I gotta say Boalt.  I'd send out tuition deposits at both schools and think very hard all summer.  But if it were me personally it'd be Boalt no question.  Philly sucks.

1. I was serious.  Yale is the only school I'd consider gracing with my presence.

2. Kill self immediately.

It took me 17 years to finally like my cat and now I can't get enough of her. Toughest animal in the history of animals

That sucks, considering it will likely be dead within the year.  :'(
