I just finished my first week of law school. Does anyone else feel that Socratic method is just like Russian roulette? You just wait to see if you get shot that day.... LOL

I knew I couldn't show tattoos in the court room, but as a student I figured schools would not be so strict, however I am visitng a law school now and they said during classes we cannot have visible tattoos... has anyone ever heard of schools regulating your appearance while you are a student?

So I just found out that it will take until my 3L year to gain residency at pretty much any public school. Problem is, I based a lot of my decisions on gaining residency after 1L year, and now out of state tuition for 2 years is not looking much different than some private schools I got into. I withdrew from some schools and others I just didn't send the deposit in. I still have one backup school, FCSL, so I can go there, but my question is: is it too late? Is it possible to go to one of the schools I withdrew from or didn't send money to? Or am I stuck now?

I am currently in limbo with two schools. NCCU, I have to take their special program next week and wait to see if I get accepted. In the meantime, FCSL is my backup and as far as they are concerned, I am going there. I already paid the first deposit and today I got my award letter. They said I have to sign it and a promissory note within 10 days. If I do this, does this cut me out of getting funding once I get into NCCU?? I need to keep FCSL as my backup, but also be able to get aid for NCCU. Does the gov't allow you to get multiple awards, at least until you get one disbursed?

I know some schools forbid having a job during 1L, and others frown upon it, but is LS really that hard and time consuming that I can't even work part time?
