We applied to the some of the same schools so here's what I know/think for what it's worth:

I have done quite a bit of research on Florida International and it seems to be well respected in South Florida.  The school is relatively new so the alumni network and graduates working in big firms will be small.  If you want to do public interest work and you don't mind living in South Florida then this school is your best option after UM given it's low cost.  The average debt upon graduation is almost nonexistent.

I really like Nova.  The facilities are beautiful and graduates appear to do very well in the South Florida area.  Alumni can be found in firms throughout the area.  I have heard from some people that it's extremely cutthroat especially for 1L's since everyone is hoping to transfer.

I also like Valparaiso.  I think the school is underrated in the rankings.  The school is well respected in Indiana and elsewhere but I would worry about the degree's portability.    You may need to remain in the area for a while following graduation.  So if you don't mind Indiana then this school is an option.

If had to make the decision with these schools, I would choose FIU (forget about Florida Coastal and Florida A & M, they can't compete with FIU or Nova).  I really like the South Florida area, I think there are tremendous opportunities in the area overall for someone professionally.  Ultimately it's your decision.

Absolutely not.  $26,000 is not worth filing for bankruptcy (actually $13,000 in dsichargeable debt).  Especially if you are planning to take the bar within the next 5-7 years.  It will be a red flag.  After 7 years you will be fine as far as the character and fitness is concerned.

I will most likely be attending Cooley in Fall 2005 with the intention of tansferring after my first year.  Would anyone be willing to discuss their experience at Cooley and the transfer process with me?  Thanks.

You can't put that much faith in a ranking from one of the lowest ranked law schools in the country that places itself in the top of anything.

I have been following this thread closely since I applied to Nova, FIU, and Stetson.  If the choice was between Nova and FIU, what would be the better choice?  Someone already said that FIU was behind Nova.  I'm very curious.

Lewis and Clark is recognized nationally and internationally as the leader in the field of animal law.  If that is what you want to practice then this is the school to choose.  It's home to the only animal law clinic in the country, offers 5 classes in animal law, and employ some of the leading scholars in the field.  Almost every animal law attorney working at national animal protection organizations graduated from Lewis and Clark.  The only school that was close in terms of academics was Rutgers Newark Animal Law Project started by Gary Francione, who is a brilliant animal law scholar.  Michigan State University also offers several animal law initiatives under David Favre, again brilliant.  Nevertheless, Lewis and Clark is the leader.

I'm trying to decide between Nova in Florida or NESL in Boston.  Anyone know which school is a better option?  They are both ranked about the same but I would much rather go to school in Florida than Boston.

Studying for the LSAT / Are Some Statements Reversible

If a statement reads "some red plants are tall plants" can you also say that "Some Tall Plants are red plants."

In other words can "RP some TP" be flipped to read "TP some RP."

Studying for the LSAT / Most Effective Way to use SuperPrep

I'm taking the Feb. LSAT and will be using LSAC's SuperPrep as a tool.  I already took Testmasters and did the supplemental material.  I started with timed preptest 7 days ago (5 days on/1 day off).  I am scoring in my target range but still make some careless errors reading logical reasoning stimuli and still struggle with reading comp.  What would be the most effective way to use SuperPrep.  I was thinking of taking one test untimed and reviewing it completely.  Then take 5 more preptests timed and then taking another test from SuperPrep and it reviewing it etc.

Would this be the most effective way?  Any comments would be appreciated.
